Skybet Virtual Thursdays

  • I know you cant lay on a virtual race, but Sky had this last week too – Bet €5 get €5. Seems like a deal? Opinions?

Interesting there is no odds restriction on the qualifying bet.

I’ve converted the odds to probs (eg 9/1 to 10%) and added up for one race of 14 horses and the total prob is 118% so the bookie is taking a big enough edge here and because no limit on the bet (usually 1/2 and above in real life) I guess that the edge is spread across the whole field.

I’ll be expecting to lose a long run average of 20% on my real bets so €1 and then make 60% to 80% on free bets so €3-€4 on average per week. So an easy at least €3 long term profit and some excitement.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Was just going to post this placed the £5 on a sure win team on football at odds of 1.27 the other team was 12.00 which won then placed the £5 on a horse E/W what I noticed is and this wont apply all the time but the favourites do usually come through for you winning overall a nice £15.59 :).

You could go double chance on an strong odds on football team to take away a little risk on the £5 placed.

Just placed the fiver on double chance virtual football, 1.25 odds which won then used the free bet.

The favourite doesn’t always win! Second week running I backed the favourite on Speedway and lost. I’m down €10 over the two weeks. Next week will be my week.

Bet on motocross, only 4 runners… 1 of the fav 2 usually wins! So bet £5 on fav, and £5 free bet on second fav.. Good chance of doubling up

stuck a fiver on football, qualifier lost but free bet won at 2.8 so £4 up. I like skybet so don’t mind an occasional mug bet with them

For the guys betting their freebie on 2nd favs and on 2.8, think about this.

€5 on evens will win you €5 about half the time, so over 100 bets 50 * €5 for a max expectation of about €250.

€5 at 7/1 will win you €35 about 12.5% of the time, so over 100 bets 12*€35 for a max of about €420.

These are maximums because I am ignoring the bookie edge so expect that to eat about 20% into your €250 and the same on your €420.

Anyway the moral is to put your freebies on longer shots.

Got a email off betfair offering this same deal this weekend. As suggested put £5 on the fav in a speedway race and the free £5 on the second fav. 2nd fav won so I ended up £8 in pocket.
