Smarkets desktop demise (old site!)

August 7th….at least they aren’t doing it over a weekend or a busy week like the one just gone. Can get used to the new format on quieter days

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

The new format is awful, really struggling with it. It’s nowhere near as quick and easy to use, having to drop down each category (eg under/over 2.5) each time you click on a match, not being able to see WDW coupons. I also find the font is fuzzy and less clear to read. God knows why they thought this was a good idea. I don’t see what was wrong with having an in depth desktop site and a streamlined mobile one.
+0This is problematic for me as I can’t login using a VPN on the new site. Just keep getting a message saying “Service temporarily unavailable”. Anyone else experienced that?
+1no but the dog doesnt log in under a VPN. How come u do? Is it because u need to for other bookies?
+0I have been using the new site for the last 2 weeks and used a VPN on a few occasions. No problem so far.
I must be the only person that doesn’t mind the new site, so far no issues with it. Plus it doesn’t default to £10 stakes, that cost me recently!+0It was only a matter of time before they fully ‘upgraded’ the desktop version and removed the old one.
I’ve said it many times, this is clearly not an upgrade, the site is next to impossible to use unless the bet being placed is hours before the event.
How the hell this software upgrade has been accepted by the upper management is beyond me…
+0Out of interest what is the major issue with the new site, is it mainly speed?
At the moment I mainly trade / arb so been placing bets in the last minute or so before the event starts. Can’t see any difference between this and the old site. Judging by the number of people complaining there must be issues for many, but I haven’t come across any so far, maybe just lucky.+0Get regular offer updates, tip and tricks, big offer alerts and more straight to your inbox.
Crashed 5 minutes before the start of the new premier league season… great stuff.
+0Really pissed off. Don’t know any of my positions on the markets I was trading.
A web based company with a slow, unresponsive website that goes down just before a main match of the day starts. Great stuff. 🙁
+0I was hoping that Arsenal would score first as I had 1.0 Arsenal on a couple of free bets, damn site crashed and couldn’t lay it off, Leicester scored before I could deposit on Betfair, grrr!
+0Lucky for me today I managed to finish well up but could easily have gone the other way. Why are all exchanges so unreliable? Is it really that difficult to run a website. All customers want is a simple, easy to use website that doesn’t go down when you least want it to.
+0Was good fun backing and laying events that had already occured & still had liquidity attributed to it.
But yeah, Smarkets is a bag of sh*t lately.
