Smarkets or Betfair for the festival?

  • For those with 0% at both, does anyone have any thoughts on which one will be “better”?

Betfair is typically lower on EW markets but sometimes Smarkets takes the lead on major markets with BF following

Just thinking about exchange float management

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I’m only on 0% at smarkets so will hope to lay most there, only place part if I have to at Betfair.

Obviously do all bets within the same market at the same exchange unless you really can’t (ie market goes down)

if I had 0% Betfair id use that. probably won’t matter on the win part though with volume of cash

honestly I’ve not seen smarkets take the lead on major markets. Recently on the win part of horses from what I’ve seen it’s better to be a backer there … 0.2 or 0.4 above the others half hr out at times. Matchbook has actually been more use.

With all these first day offers. Especially on the 1st race. What would a good bank in your exchange account?. I don’t want to be quickly trying to put a few extra hundred in with less than a few minutes before the off.

You’re unlikely to be in that situation, you’ll have money on all the races by then anyway so any new bets will most likely be covered by existing liabilities

Also depends what you do as £10 at under 10-1 offers require a lot less than £100 eway on a 30-1 shot! I guess just be mindful of that, if you have a limited bank watch for the bets on longer priced horses.
