SP bets similar odds to fixed-odds?

  • I’ve been resricted to SP bets from Racebets (stay clear – literally only just joined), and I still need to wager off £180 at odds of over 1.5 so I can withdraw my money which has been locked. Catch is – SP odds do not say their value till after. This is what’s worrying me – what if the SP bet goes to under 1.5 and then I need to put on even more liability that I do not have. What are the chances of it fluctuating from say, 2.5 or 2.7 (fixed-odd), to below 1.5 (SP odd)? As in if the fixed-odd is 2.7 the chances of the SP bet being below 1.5 is low right? When I compared the final SP bets to fixed-odds ones, they looked very similar in terms of the finalised odds, but I’m still concerned about the unknown.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I think you have covered half of this in your other post, but odds can fluctuate. Do the safest way would be to back/lay just before the race starts to minimise risk odds movement.
You could also consider laying at betfair start price or laying un early stages in play of longer races… but I think it will add too much confusion

My recommendation- back and don’t lay a series of horses around 1.6 to 1.7 mark closish to race starting. You could maybe do 18 at £10 a go, if you aren’t laying it wont take so much time and you would hope variance isn’t too bad at those odds/number bets (but it is theoretically possible to lose the lot)
