Sportingbet acca insurance

  • I’ve been quite successful the first month of my accareer but all so far being on those where I sequentially lay when required. Thinking of trying the sportingbet one tho as there is definitely value. Just wanted advice on approaches given the bets all have to settle same they and so can’t lay them

I currently put my first selection on say 2/1 shot then the next as low as possible odds…with the aim being a lot of the time the first one loses and effort is minimal. Wondering whether the same approach makes sense here…or whether to pick all 5 selections with low odds to increase the times I’ll win? Any stats or FACTS would be appreciated

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

What’s the other T&C- any min odds and how many legs?
Weekends give opportunity for sequential laying on same day still, and a real dead cert could be thrown in same time with no lay I guess
Otherwise if not laying I’d say go as low as you can odds wise. The thread about bet Victor nba acca gives the gist of that approach, although with favourable t&c

matchedem. Sportingbet has been a disaster for me! I have won 3 bets (returning £63+£66+£70) in the last 30 accas (30*£25=£750), something like that. I only mostly stick in the odds on favs so total odds of each acca is about 2/1 or 3/1… so out of 30 I expect or need to win about 6 or 7 to break even on real money. As you see I am down £550 real money which I’ve clawed back a bit with free bets but obviously still down.

Like you, I still think there is value in the offer, but I have been hit hard by variance on sportingbet!

I try to mix up the picks across my acca’s but there are not that many games per day with short odds on favourites so invariably I have Bayern, or City in two or three of them – so it’s a single point of failure.

So learn from my mistakes and try not to reuse the same team in different accas. Don’t force yourself to pick 4 acca’s if you think you will be over exposed by one bad result taking down half your chances.

What worked good for me this week was I put City to win on one acca on Sporting so to balance out the variance and because City to draw was very good odds over at Stan James (7.0/7.0) I put City to draw on my SJ acca also with acca insurance. Any way the rest is history, City drew, Stan James unlayed 16/1 acca won and I took hundreds off them.

What also works for me is punting my free bets. So in that period where Bayern, PSG, Real, Juve, City have been screwing with my sportingbet acca’s I was making most of the money back betting free bets on other sites on Bayern to draw, Real to draw etc. Only when the odds were right though – I would check the exchange odds to make sure the bookie odds are still good value and in theory that I am still getting 80%+ extraction from my punts.

My opinion is that if the acca is good value for a sequential lay then just because all the matches happen at the same time doesn’t mean it suddenly isn’t good value. You just can’t sequential lay it so you are relying on the Law of Large Numbers.

To be honest riding the variance is a LOT more stressful than I thought. Stick to strict matched betting if you don’t want to be grey early.

It’s worked out okay for me though in the end, just, I am still up a small profit over 4 different sites despite the horrendous luck at sportingbet.

Thanks for the thoughts fog and it does indeed sound more stressful than maybe I can handle…550 is a lot of moolah

May stick with the ones I’ve got now and have one or 2 on sportingbet as and when I fancy a flutter. Jenningsbet 188bet and betmclean are serving me well online with a few in store ones at ladbrokes and paddy when the chances arise

    Long live match betting!

Well obviously £550 real money loss on those 30 accas wasn’t the final figure. Of those 30 acca’s I had 14 free bets to regain about £280 of that (14*20=£280). But yeah, stressful if you get a bad run.

But you’re hoping the luck evens out. So the bad run on sporting coincided with a good run on Stan James/BetMcLean for me so was able to sustain the short term loss.
