Sportingbet Money Back If 2nd – Saturday Racing

  • Four races this weekend:

    1.50 Ascot
    2.40 Haydock
    3.00 Ascot
    3.35 Ascot

They’ve chosen better races this weekend so I think theres a good chance of hitting a free bet or two. As always, odds will be awful so my tactic is to always back early on favs/2nd favs and lay later.

Important to remember bets have to be placed 9am or after and of course, no guarantee lay odds will come in so if you find close matches and feel more comfortable going with them, then do so.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

The Sportingbet races are still a bit of a lottery – big fields 14, 15, 16 and 18 runners. Not really a clear favourite or favourites in any of the races.

The best I can see is the favourites in the Ascot 15:00 and 15:35 which at the moment are 4/1 and 9/2.

My rule of thumb for money back 2nd races has always been to keep it under 3/1, anything longer odds does not seem to come in 2nd often enough.

Obviously though if you get next to nothing QL then anything is worth getting on. I know you say their odds are poor and that is probably true but I always use my sporting bet free bets (that I earn on acca insurance) and I find they are slow at updating so should be able to get some small arbs close to the off on any steamers.

Dis you hit any today @Chris? I can’t remember the last time I got a 2nd place with Sportingbet…

Fwiw I prefer to back and lay a minute before the off, you can usually find close odds for the faves.

Two losers for me today on that offer… Any advice for the future 2nd place offers that I’ll be doing? And which bookies are the best for that?

Fred and tote been doing some great offers. 2nd at certain meets (often dundalk). I like to hit the favourite at a low ql, then try and pick up a horse around 6/7/8 that’s coming in and has no ql with the other bookie.

I noticed today betway also do money back 2nd on channel 4 TV races

Should also add betway just launched best odds guaranteed plus
For me that’s the swing which makes the original approach in this post worthwhile.

For example back a 4-1 shot which drifts to 6-1 and sits 8.0 on the exchange on sporting bet you are in trouble. Best odds plus and you’re sat on profit regardless of finish

    Sure did, I had two.

Dusty Lark in the 1.50 and Minella Daddy in the 3.00. The later I got a huge arb on as i took 11.0 shortly after 9am and layed at 6. Made nice little profits on two of the others and a small loss on the 2.40.

Turned out to be a great day, punted £15 on the Sky boost which finally came in.

Nice one. Minera Daddy was the one favourite I dididn’t go for today!
But did have a nice each way arb with Brain Power plus the Victor boost on uknowwhatimeanharry.
