Stake refund as free bet

  • Hi, i have started MB a few weeks ago and i want to check the return stake as a free bet offer on paddy power.
Paddy power say spend 25 and if the bet loses i get 25 in free bet.

i understand if i spend my 25 quid with e.g. back odds 3.0, lay odds 3.4 i can win 21.27 back whatever happens. my question is, is it true that it is better for the outcome to be with the back bet than the lay bet?

so if the back bet wins i get 21.27 plus i can withdraw my 25 quid from paddy power back in cash
if the lay bet wins i get 21.27 and a £25 free bet with paddy power which i will probably recoup only 75% of so i will be a few pound worse off?

is this right? and why in the calculator you say to enter 75% of the stake as that is how much you expect to get back if the lay bet wins? is there anything i can do to spread the loss if the lay bet wins? or is this already done with the calculator when i select risk free bet?

For an offer which is cash back if the back bet looses e.g. on sunbets – i assume i just count it as a straight free bet as what ever happens i keep my initial stake from the back bet?

    thanks

I think you are talking about the same thing? free bet on lose and cash back if you lose sound the same to me.
Those numbers don’t look right, you need to use the risk-free calculator with 80% of the stake in the cashback box.

    read Matts guide https://matchedbettingblog.com/risk-free-bet-strategy/

but basically these are not as generous as they sound, if its for £25 you’d only get around £16-18 if you do it the guaranteed profit way. You also need MUCH higher odds than 3, more like 8 and above.

The other way is that you can straight up gamble the stake, knowing that you will get your money back if you lose, but if you do lose be aware that the refund will be given back as a free bet, so you would get the full £25 back as its most likely stake not returned.
