Sunbets 5/1 Mike Dean to award a penalty (max £10)

  • He’s reffing the Crystal Palace – Bournemouth game at 3 tomorrow. Can currently lay at 5.3 on betfair for a penalty to be taken but hopefully will come down a bit closer to the game.

Just to be clear, there’s no way that there could be a penalty taken without Mike Dean giving it? If a linesman spots the foul or something…would not be ideal to lose both sides of the bet.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Only way is if he gets injured pre match or during I guess

Why would lay come down on this nearer the game tho….could do with some FACTS

I think that a Linesman can indicate a penalty, but only the ref can actually “award” one.

I guess if Dean get’s injured and replaced mid match (it does happen!) and the replacement ref awarded the spot kick, then technically Sunbets could refuse to pay you out and you would obviously lose your lay bet.

Ah yeah that is a good point. Probably not worth it in that case…the lay might come down as the market gets some liquidity on it but who knows really

Worth it in my opinion as a small punt at least.

A decent amount of penalties have been awarded this season so far. There is a new directive to clamp down on holding and pushing in the penalty area at corners.

The last time I saw a ref coming off injured must be about a decade ago. Not really a consideration. In that case sunbets might still be generous enough to pay out or at least void the bet. You would be left paying out at the exchange so perhaps underlay a little more or don’t lay at all and just take it as a value bet.

I see what you mean about the lay coming down – at the moment the back is 3.85 and the lay is 5.3 – so I imagine the true odds is somewhere in the middle. But it might also go up as we have seen so often with boosts.

Ian Wright’s banker and the Saturday Fourfold look decent value too, pity you can’t sequentially lay them.

I was thinking of maybe just taking it as a value bet. Dean does like to give penalties…cheers for the replies everyone
