Make sure you’ve budgeted your funds so they’re in the right place ready for the offers you’re doing. The main ones over the next 3 days are:

    1. Sky free In-Play tonight
    2. Boylesports bet £40 get £20 free Premier League (app only, see thread for info). X2 (Includes Liverpool match too)
    3. Channel 4/1+ offer (if you have the funds) Bet365 and Betfair
    4. Money back 2nd up to £25 Hills/Lads (Channel 4 Races) – around £300-worth need in backs/lays
    5. William Hill In-Play – £10 free in-play for all televised matches when staking £20. 4 matches total.
    6. Sky money back 2nd offer from Saturday’s first televised race up to £25. (Probably)
    7. Bet365 Risk-Free £50 MNF

I make sure my exchange account is at a decent level (around £400) and that my bank has enough available to cover all the deposits I’ll need to make. As a rule for planning ahead for weekend deals, withdraw funds from bookmaker accounts on Monday/Tuesday so you can divide your money correctly on the day and not have it stuck somewhere random.

Spot on Dash, do about the same as you said there.

Don’t forget 888sport’s awesome free bets when your 3 selected teams score and their in play saturday offer too

I think the boyles sports offer is the pick of the weekend for the guaranteed profit, bet365’s a high priority for Monday

Walka Ladbrokes & WH offer money back 2nd on all channel 4 races (minimum 5 runners) so what you want to do is pick the races where there isn’t many runners and even better if there is two horses which are clear favourites…that way you just back both of them one with ladbrokes one with william hill and you improve your chances of a 2nd place finish for example….

The 2:25 at Ascot the favourite is currently 3.0 then 3.25 then 5 then 13…so with those odds if you backed the favourite and 2nd favourite other time you would get alot of 2nd place finishes!

What sort of hit rate do people manage with 2nd place refunds?

Having done ~10 in a similar fashion to how Ryan describes (favourites in smaller races), probably half have actually won but never any 2nd places. I’ve found it time consuming to get decent odds and at best you still end up a couple quid down.

I usually get 1 in 3 it varies…when you get races where there is two clear favourites they are the best ones! ones where its open i dont really bother with

You need about 1 in 10 to break even.

Looking at my records, I have done 53 and managed only 6 refunds

I am now far more selective on which specific races I will bother with – i.e. minimal runners and ideally a clear 2nd favourite

I definitely manage more than 6 in 53..maybe thats because as tony suggests i only do ones where i think its easier to pick a 2nd place

Be careful with these, take up too many they’ll restrict you.Bookies aren’t stupid they know you combine with WH ladbrokes, paddy etc.

I dont see how they could possibly know that….you seem to think the bookies are like the FBI all im doing is betting on the favourite in a horse race? I think youll find many punters like to bet on the favourite…..

Interesting to hear other peoples experiences. Almost feels like it’s easier to pick a winner than 2nd place as the latter isn’t worth fighting for if someone has an insurmountable lead so its often some random outsider?

I can see the potential, it’s more just that it’s relatively time consuming for something that’s not a certainty. With some smaller meets it seems to be a necessity to wait till near to post to get reasonable lay odds/liquidity. Thankfully no such problem for the 1425 tomorrow, already got a bet on that.
