Typical day?

  • What’s you’re typical matched betting day?

I find I spend a very small time actually matched betting.

Actually making and laying bets: 1 hour

    Research: 2 hours

Watching my games/races to see what I won: 3 hours!

6 hours is a lot but you can manage a lot of it while just waiting for the kids outside school or during ad breaks watching tv…. or 5 minutes off work here or there to watch a race. Anyway it not a typical day more like my ideal matched betting day, so, usually maybe my Sunday as the rest of the week is hectic with life. During the week will get some time in the morning or night to make some bets and just keep an eye on the forum throughout the day.

My research includes reading this forum, making spreadsheets, doing ew arbs or the next popular thing but with small or notional stakes, creating databases of horse results or odds or football results/odds. This definitely takes up more time than I actually spend betting.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Surely another 1hr answering questions from us newbies FoG!

    Probably 1hr research/odds finding
30min backing/laying on weekdays. Weekends I seem to constantly be at the laptop.

Just out of interest what variables do you record on your databases?

I try to record any info that I can source. Been a bit slack lately as I’m on easy street at the moment with my accas so most my data is out of date but ready to look into it again if I lose a few acca offers.

I have a lot of data on bet365 early prices versus exchange. Also have pulled lots of data off websites like betfair and attheraces for bookie sp’s, exchange sp’s and result including winning distance etc. Anything I can source using automatic scripts.

I don’t have a typical day, I do as much as I can around work. My jobs creative so I have a lot of downtime pondering how to “make the magic” I find matched betting is a good escape. I’m pretty anal about my spreadsheet, logging every bet, ensuring every account is correct to the penny, 2 separate logs for ongoing Accas to double check my maths, separate tab for casino offers, and one for mug bets (I log stake/sport bet on/odds taken/result at the bookie) so I reckon 1/3 of my time is taken up by this! If I’m honest I probably use less than a third of the data I collate but old habits and all that.

On the plus side, if you wanted to know how much money I made from 888Spotrts bet £20 get £5 per goal on the Birmingham game (13/12/16) I could tell you-they scored 2 goals giving me £10 in FB’s which I converted to £8.46 profit, my QL was 36p-giving me an overall profit of £8.10! Told you I was anal and the data was useless!
