UFC Connor McGregor

  • Before I dive into what I think is a nice Arb I just wanted to share/get your opinions in case I have missed anything.

    On betfair there is the following market “McGregor To Win Within 60 Seconds” Yes is currently 7.8.

    Sky has “Connor McGregor to win within the first minute (Any Method) 9.0.

    Unless I am mistaken this is the same? Watch everyone jump on now and drive the lay right up ahaha!! ps don’t dive in though in case I am wrong.

    I managed to get partially laid at 6.6! Bit of a carry on after that with another partial bet! Locked in now though with a respectable £11 guaranteed.

    All other bookies have it around 5/1 for Connor to win within 60 seconds so the fact sky have it at 8/1 no idea why but an easy £10ish profit here. Finally got on it myself after informing everyone else!

    Anyone with decent MMA knowledge saw this happening. I’m just raging I didn’t mug bet on it. McGregor cannot compete at this weight class. The first punch he got caught with rocked him and he was fucked from there on. As an Irish man I am disappointed but kudos to Diaz.

    It’s easy to see now. But don’t think it was generally expected.

    If so anyone with decent MMA knowledge will be at least four times richer than they were yesterday. I think the guy was 4/1 or more.

    I don’t have a huge sample space to go on (2 fights) but the bookies seem to have the odds WAY off for MMA. McGregor was about evens to beat Aldo and he won in 14 seconds or something – now he is odds on to beat someone two weight divisions up and struggled and lost …..

    The guys are matched up based on weight and ability – logically each fight should be 50-50, generally anyone on long odds must be value? like roro I also considered punting Diaz.

    Generally not expected by the wider public but inside MMA circles it will not go down as a big shock.

    Fog my mate who actually used to do MMA said the same last week, no way should Connor have odds of 1.2 against 5…was he really that much odds on? Its just the public assuming he was going to win and I don’t think the bookies have a clue how to value MMA fights. Bet some lumped a whack on him as well but anyway im gutted he lost but glad my £50 in sky lost nice easy tenner that one.

    Its because he owns one weight division then stepped up for this fight but clearly wasnt ready despite the fact he almost doubled his body mass (looking at the pics anyway).

    Not bothered though, I made £28 from the outcome on betfair.
