What is a comfortable bank?

  • To do this really well as an investment what should the ratio be? 300 Bookie/ 700 Betfair/Smarkets? Experiences please.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

My float currently stands at around £4000. Around £2500 is tied up in bookmaker accounts, £1000 in exchanges, and £500 in a current account. I think a total bankroll of £10,000 would be ideal.

I think it depends on what offers you want to start doing, its sensible to start off with the smaller offers and leave out the large ones such as Bet365 until you have a large float and a bit of experience. Unfortunately a lot of people get attracted to the money available from the larger offers and come unstuck when they keep winning at the bookie and have no money left at the exchange to lay.

I think for each offer you go for you need to ensure you have enough money in your exchange account to make sure you can keep laying bets there should all your bets win at the bookies. Continually winning at the bookies is fairly unlikely but does happen, so its best to be prepared for the worse case scenario.

I always find Barclays very comfortable.
A nice seating area, access to WIFI and Sky News.

^ LOL. Genuinely laughed out loud at that. Probably because for such a dry forum, the humour was unexpected.

    Ha ha…..

I am fairly new to matched betting (about 6 months but i dont spend much time doing it. But i am not new to betting. Looking at it and and i was thinking that a £2k overall bank (maybe something like a grand in exchange, 500 in bookies and 500 in current account) would suffice.

I only really bet on football and tennis….and maybe a bit of snooker (dont have access to betting sites in work so cant really do any horses during the day….plus zero interest anyway)

I havent done all the sign up offers but will do when i get around to it. I think the with a few sign up offers (the main ones like paddy, ladbrokes, betfred and then onto bet365) it should be possible to start with something like 200 quid and build it to 2k pretty quickly with all the welcome offers and periodic offers.

And once i have 2k in the kitty then i think 300 a month should be easy enough to achieve….

I have around 2k in exchange and 2k in bookies, I find having lots in the exchange so much easier allowed you to go for longer odds and more bets at once

I have about 8k in total. Most of this stored at the exchange and always mimimal 500 at Skrill. I am still working the sign up offers (and the best reloads) as I’m fairly new and I’d like to do at 3 to 5 at once. Doing this for 1 month and earned 1.5k so far.

Of course I can do 1 offer at the time, but I don’t have much time because of work and Saturday & Sunday I spend time placing the bets. This way I’m faster done with the sign-ups.
