What's the biggest withdrawal you've ever had to make?

  • I wanted to start an interesting discussion about making big withdrawals from bookmakers, since at the moment I’m trying to withdraw over 1,200 GBP from one bookmaker and over 700 GBP from another.

When wagering through a sports bonus our preferred outcome is usually to “transfer” the bonus money from the bookmaker into the exchange in as few bets as possible. Sometimes however, as many of us know, the bets at the bookmaker just keep winning and when this happens the sum of money in the bookmaker account can skyrocket into four-figure sums very quickly, especially if it was a large €200 or €300 bonus to begin with and if we keep staking the entirety of our balance on each bet.

So I want to ask a few questions around this topic to get the discussion started.

What was the largest sum of money you ever had to withdraw from a bookmaker after rolling over a bonus where your bets kept winning, and which bookmaker was it?

How much money do you need to accrue in the bookmaker before you start to worry if your withdrawal request will be approved? 1 K, 5 K, 10K? What do you think is the cut-off point where most bookmakers start to make it painfully difficult for you to collect your winnings?

Have you ever had a situation while doing a bonus where a bookmaker wouldn’t pay out your winnings and lost several months worth of matched betting profits as a consequence? What do you think the chances of this sort of thing happening are?

Obviously some bookmakers are less reliable than others when it comes to big payouts, but there are so many bonuses out there and it’s tempting to do all of them. But is there a point where we should just say no to a bonus because of the risk of wiping out several months worth of matched betting profits?

I’d be interested to hear people’s thoughts on this topic.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

If you’ve setup the account legitimately and have proof ID you shouldn’t need to worry at all

Some make it more difficult but from my experience it’s usually when gubbed/restricted and taking final balance they make it more tricky

When getting into rollovers it’s more important to understand the t&c and restriction risks rather than worry about balance…. ie don’t get locked into rolling over thousands before you can withdraw if not prepared to do so

I have never been unable to withdraw my balance from any bookmaker, highest withdrawals would be around 4-5K. I did have higher from casino sites in my pre matched betting days. Like Betman said, as long as your docs are OK and you’re not doing anything fraudulent, you shouldn’t have anything to worry about.

Smarkets after the World cup around £1200, in bank next day.

Betvictor – £700 in bank Monday after a weekend.

    Bet365 £500 – in bank instantly.

I tend to keep my balances around £100, if I go over that i withdraw, I find by keeping an active balance in there you get better offers.
