In answer to my own question, when I looked again the answer is no it is not the same – as it can either be Chelsea/Chelsea, Chelsea/Draw or Chelsea/West Ham as the result in this scenario.
You’re correct, they’re not the same.
For example, Chelsea could win the first half 2-0 and lose the second half 1-0.
