William Hill Djakadam & Thistlecrack double

  • Got an email off William Hill offering a double on both of these to win at 3/1 max £10. Checking the exchange the odds are 1.67 & 1.8, therefore, I assume I just lay them one by one, if someone could check my calculations I would appreciate it.

    Lay £10.20 Djakadam liability of £6.83 – if it loses £10.20 *.98 = £10. Loss 0.

    If it wins Lay (£10+£6.83)/.98 = £17.17 @1.8 = £13.74 – if it loses £17.17*.98 = £16.83 0 loss.

    If it wins = £30 – £17.17 – £6.83 = £6?….meh not exactly great I guess, but profit is a profit odds might reduce also (could go up though i guess!) I think i’d be better just not laying or combining with channel 4 money back 2nd just as a back up!

    My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    if you are just underlaying them them one by one for a max profit you will make more than £6.

    odds are 4.0 max 10 bet so £30 profit

    lay £10.20 at odds of 1.7 and then 1.8 if the first horse wins – total liability for your two lays is approx £15. So if your two horses come in your making £15 not £6.

    if im wrong correct me please

    @RyanB

    You’ve accidentally used the lay stake (£17.17) to calculate profit. The return, if it wins, should be = 30 – 13.74 – 6.83 = £9.43.

    @Daniel

    Total liability is over £20 as you have to lay more on the second horse should the first horse win.

    Hmmm might get on this as well.
    If the first wins you can overlay the second for guarenteed profit. Just can’t calculate how much right now as baby is screaming

    Doesn’t mention a stake limit. Also beetle to score and win is 19/10 boosted to 3/1 too which is similar value. Not sure how you lay that though

    Cheers for the help guys! much appreciated!

    Well £9.83 is abit better, was tempted to not lay Djakadam and then only lay Thistlecrack as with the Sky offers etc today I don’t mind the potential £10 loss i guess not sure yet. The max stake is £10, im still awaiting to see the offer it states from 8:30am but its not there yet!

    There is also quite alot of small price horses today, especially in the 2:40 Doncaster and therefore using Ladbrokes & WH should be able to get quite a few 2nd place refunds fingers crossed.

    Ryan I put 13€ on the djakadam thistlecrack double. There is no mention of a stake limit on mobile at least.

    Use Betfair’s “To Score” market to lay, if there’s any liquidity, often isn’t

    Are ladbrokes doing money back 2nd?

    The max is definitely £10. I tried putting more on and got the usual where it offers you the rest at the real odds….Ladbrokes ALWAYS do money back on 2nd, just wait until abit after half 9 and youll see their promotion go up, pretty confident on that. So im thinking if not laying Djakadam and placing him to win with Ladbrokes, that way I have 1st and 2nd covered and due to it being low odds im sure the qualifying loss will be low also.

    Thanks on ladbrokes tip. I’ll keep an eye. I definitely have 13 on that double at 3/1 but maybe that’s because I’m in euros.

    Sky bet have an offer on that djakadam race too. Money back if you lose.

    The max is 10 but your account is healthy Fog, I also got that 13 on, with 2 accounts. Keep that account healthy :-)
