William Hill Haye v Bellew boost

  • Fight to end in rounds 1-6 Evens, 2.30 till 5 in store and from 7pm online.
Only downside is on BF the current lay price is for rounds 1-5 is 1.79,so round 6 is the grey area (I think)!

Based on what you’ve said, if the fight ends in round 6 then both your back and lay bet have won. So yes, there is a discontinuity but it works in our favour! An alternative is to lay Haye rounds 1-6 at 1.77 currently – you can guarantee about £2.50 from a £25 stake, then if Bellew wins in rounds 1-6 then again, both your back and lay bet have won.

Not worth doing really unless you just wanted to punt it.
At £20 max stakes your profit on back/lay of 2/1.79 would be £1.84 and that’s without round 6 included!

Think of it this way; If the fight ends in rounds 1-5, then your back bet wins (as it covers 1-6) and your lay bet loses. If the fight ends in round 6, then your back bet wins and your lay bet also wins, as the fight has not finished between rounds 1-5.

Another double chance would be to lay Haye 1-6 at slightly shorter prices. Then if Bellew won in the first 6 rounds, you’d win both.

I screwed this up. I have 5 William Hill shops within 10 mins walk of each other in my area, so what I did was laid all those bets on Betfair first, with the intention of going out at 7pm and hitting up the shops one by one. I only now discovered that the offer in shops is now closed.

Can I now back the same bet on Betfair to minimise my loses? So say I laid Haye Round 1- 6 at odds 1.78; now can I back Haye Round 1 – 6 at same (or close) odds also at Betfair? Will this work?

You definitely can Adio – just back on Betfair, or use the cash out feature (I think that’s what it’s called) to trade out your position, if you want to get back to something approaching breakeven.

I did just notice that the market on Betfair now appears to be Rounds 1-6 – his this changed? It makes it a straight arb, no middle.
