  1. Jamie

Bet365 have got another good offer- stake £25 and get a £25 free bet each day but I think it’s invite only. Luckily I got the email

    1. Matt

      Another great offering from Bet365!

  2. Steve

Yep Jamie is right. Check your emails. Mine is limited to £10 so will depend on the customer but Bet365 are giving me £10 free bet each day to use on a specific race as long as I stake £10 on another race that day

  3. Matchtime

I think the Sportingbet money back for second is limited to a few specific races – 7 across the 4 days.

Faller insurance seems to be for every race…

    1. Matt

      Thanks for that, post updated!

  4. Norms

So many offers! Don’t know which to go for, and only so much money to cover liability! Anyway went for the Skybet and the William Hill offers. The thing is tho they are for the same race. I backed a different horse for each offer and did two lay bets for Betfair.
What I want to ask is, the fact that Betfair combines the two lay bets in to one, will this affect the profitability of the two offers?
I don’t think it will, but I thought I would just ask about it.

Thanks for all your hard work this week Matt!

    1. Matt

You’re welcome mate. It won’t affect the profitability of the offers Norms, it’ll just save you a little bit in commission if one of your selections wins. That’s because we pay commission on the market as a whole, rather than each individual selection, so because only one horse can win the race, you can’t pay commission on both.

  5. Norms

Ok great! That’s good to know.

  6. Jim

Are lay bets covered by the 0% commission offer on betfair? Or just betting on the exchange?

    1. Liam

I think the 0% does cover the lay bets, if my calculations after the 1:30 are correct

  7. Jamie

Made £200 today, with another £150 or so due for the rest of the festival.. this is paying for my trip to the USA later this year!

    1. Matt

Nicely done Jamie! It’s always great to hear about profits being put to good use!

  8. Connor W

My bets are getting reduced for some races on Smarkets – i assume it does this on all exchange. Is this because there’s a non runner and the odd change – This won’t affect my profitability much will it?

    1. 19RoyalFlush93

Yeah it’s because of non-runner. I don’t think it should be that bad. But Matt knows better than me!

      1. Con

hopefully not – swear they just are getting reduced by £1 and say £9 liability when it’s 8/1 odds – so i’ll just lose out on £1 profit or gain £8 if my bet wins?

Is this correct Matt – Trying to get my head round it all haha!

Cheers for this blog is sick!

        1. Matt

Pleased to hear you’re enjoying it mate! The rate of reduction depends on the odds of the non-runner at the time of it’s withdrawal. The reductions are usually similar at both the bookmaker and the exchange, so it shouldn’t affect things too much.

  9. 19RoyalFlush93

I think that Bet365 does decide who gets what. The maximum is £50. I literally got a popup telling me that I get £5. Not bad at all!

  10. Adam

Betfair have some good offers too: £25 free bet if you back a horse at odds of 4+

  11. Thomas

Matt, how would you play the Betfair/Bet365 offers? Lay as normal and hope you win or overlay? Good profits to be made from both.

    1. Matt

I think just a straightforward back and lay Thomas, unless you find really good odds for the overlay.

  12. Mark

I made a grand total of £277 over the 4 days at Cheltenham, not bad at all!

    1. Matt

Nicely done Mark, keep up the good work!
