Another bad day’s results……..is it really worth the effort .

  • Another poor day trying to find 2nd/3rd to the favourite.
I am thinking is it really worth the bother these days.
Only consolation was the weather was crap so not missed anything else really.
Anyone else of the same opinion.

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Thansk for the detail FOG very interesting to know…I actually prefer the 4/1+ offer I guess its just down to the luck I’ve had though (and my respect for 365 as the uber bookie FACT)

Certainly getting tougher of late –
For example for last few weeks o/a some of my nominal free bets up to say a tenner I’ve been punting them rather than MB. 30quid + from Southampton game yesterday and a tidy 50 quid profit today helped the cause from my weekly skybet free 5 pds bet.
A decent knowledge and awareness on jumps horse racing betting has kept me going well since Cheltenham too. Just as well.

    Where has everyone gone ?
The posters from when this site was worth following.
    Mark Corrigan,Jeremy Osbourne,Patrick,RyanB,Matchedem etc.
Have you all given up as the offers are just not there.
Compared to 6 months ago this site is crap,no knowledge or banter anymore.

I keep an eye on this site occasionally but since Ive signed up to oddsmonkey premium, I mainly just use that, they have all the offers posted long before theyre on here and a much better community. I got fed up with all the bitching on here, you’d post an offer then get attacked from all angles. Or patrick bemoaning the death of matched betting.

@jdrobbo I think the two main reasons for people leaving the site are, how quick bookies are nowadays to gub people and how poor most of the offers now are.

Although I have no sympathy for the bookies, things were too good to be allowed to carry on. More and more people were being attracted to matched betting, and the bookies were loosing an awful lot of money.

Sites such as this were making it easier and easier for people to get into MB (me included), and so the bookies have tightened up on their offers and their procedures to make life more difficult for us.

It is still possible to make some decent money from them for a while, but unless you want to take the risk of multi accounting, then your probably talking of around 12 months or so before you have burned through all the accounts.

What do you mean by the ‘risk’ of multi-accounting Dave? I’ve been doing it for years, never had a problem so am not sure of the risk.

The thing is too, if you’re multi-accounting then you’re not hammering offers on same accounts all the time and they all last longer.

The risk Dan, is that if the bookie finds out you are multi accounting then they can legally confiscate all the money in the accounts that you have with that bookie. I agree with you that most people do seem to get away with it, but not every one does.

True, they can do that and their have been horror stories. But to be honest any horro story I’ve heard has also stood out like a sore thump as blatantly obvious. You need to make sure you’re mixing up IP addresses, or different addresses or something. Getting a friend or family member is best and safest. Or if you move house too.

Most terms and conditions say only one offer per household or IP address.
Myself and my wife got our funds confiscated from both Betsafe and William for both of us taking advantage of their offers.

We were not really matchbetters but Man City fans and we used to use their offer to bet on the oppsition to soften any blow of City not winning.
After they didnt win at Southampton are accounts were closed and approx £300 confiscated.
Similar with William Hill after Cheltenham.
We used our own iphones to place our own bets but both bookies quoted tbeir same household rule re offers.
