Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

worked out well on my 365 bets, made almost as much as I would have done if whisky sour placed
managed to get on ordinary world at 25s with a stake I’d like to lay (or I could wipe out my above profits) but realised I’ll be driving home in run up to race.
I think 28/4 is perfectly reasonable target, but not sure it will happen in next half hr.+0It’s interesting that the biggest long shot in the 5.30 – Tell Us More – can be backed at the exchange at 1000.0 but the place is laying at 20.0.. (EDIT Ignore that – place is 34.0 to back now)
Had a £2 punt at 1000.0 just for fun..
+0Ordinary World come in nicely now on place. Need to hit this, today been a washout so far.
+0Had the winner in 4.35 but slightly overlayed so lost all but £15 of my profit on the place.
+0Un De Sceaux wins at 9/2. What a steal that is. Almost as mental as Douvan being odds on.
Irish racing eh.
+0Bit back from Un De Sceaux arb earlier, but no big pay day!

Out of interest how come you don’t do Irish racing? If odds are wrong wouldnt that be all the more reason to play rather than avoid?
+02 right pal
+0Luckily got my money matched on ordinary world.
Hindsight is a wonderful thing but if I wasn’t so in place mode I’d backed un De sceaux unlaid somewhere with mb2nd as already observed those odds were a bit lopsided.Lack liquidity mbpunter, plus his stubborn streak gets in the way of the grade 1 races which have more liquidity than our standard midweek racing. ;-)
+0And yet it would appear I still made more money on one standard race than you did on your Grade 1s betman. I know which position I’d rather be in :)
Lack of liquidity is the main issue yeah, had a look last night (and at tomorrows just now) and there was nothing there, zero. All of the big UK festivals, you can easily get your back and lays matched/arbed the night before meaning its easy to take advantage of the best prices on offer. With Irish you’re basically gambling and hoping the lays come in some time up until the race goes off. Havent observed any of the place markets there today but often find they are way off, looks like you found some good arbs today so fair play, its just not worth the time or risk for me, personal preference.
The markets are another matter, cant work out why they are so much less dependable there especially as we’re using the same bookies as we do for UK racing right? The results always make a mockery of the markets though, looks like the bookies had a bumper day there again today.
Anyway, we’ve had this debate many times, its just personal preference and for me I’m saving time and money by avoiding it.
+0Yeah fair enough liquidity wasn’t comparable to other big festivals. Was ok though today on the races i did. Didn’t make much but long term decent if results are unpredictable imo. Each to their own as you say, though.
+0I didn’t mention numbers? You did beat me but I wasn’t too far off the figure you mentioned given my 2 proper bets didn’t come in. But from a time perspective we both hit something we knew for good value
I THINK a lot of the Irish money in the know comes late in the day, which makes the markets have some greyhound market tendencies than our horse markets. I’m sure i read before of some fantastic each way bets when the money came in late for a rank outsider that placed in our typical low grade bad each ways. But can clearly work the other way if youre waiting to lay a place and the market gets completely tilted
+0Irish racing is great if you’re trying to bet and lay at the same time in the 20 minutes or so pre race.. The unpredictability is perfect for doing it.
Viconte Du Noyer – 26.0 ew with Bet365 in the 18.40 tomorrow..
+06.45 Taunton worth keeping an eye on, 7.10 too risky now with that non runner.
+06.40 at punchestown too… might be one for jumping on in the last 20 mins as Crispy noted
