Ladbrokes just got a telling off for abusing Rule 4. Basically knew a horse wasn’t going to run so shortened the price to get bigger advantage for the Rule 4 deduction. Cheats!

Let’s see if the 1.40 Newton Abbott can keep 8 runners..

If you look up Bad EW in the dictionary it points you to that race.

How do you even get a match on the win market?

    Hoover 26s – Paddy
    Secret 26s – Bet365
Rest of the field are 50s or above.

However, Hoover is laying at 45 on Betdaq, 42 on Betfair
Secret us laying at 96 on Betdaq & 130 on Betfair

Still trying to learn the ropes with Bad EWs

You can almost lay your full stake on the place and still make a profit in that race.

    Non runner is the danger.

Big stake EW on the 2nd fav may be the way to go.

2.75/2.4 available on the EW market.

Marv – put in a sell request and hope for a match, or keep an eye on the race and wait for movement. Gotta play the long game and have patience to get the win layed on the long odds

    1.40 is definitely interesting.

I’ll check in on that 10 minutes before the off.. (big stake on the second favourite is what I’m looking for too..)

    Cheers guys.

I might have a dabble at low stakes before I am 100% confident.

All practice Marv. If say I’ve taken a horse 41/48 I’ve obviously taken a QL – if I’m not so confident in the horse I simply adjust the underlay to cover the initial loss on the win to still make it risk free.

Can also use the EW tab on Betfair as an alternative to laying the win/place separately.

1.40 does look like an interesting race but will be waiting closer to the off as high risk

Black Type are 3.25 on the second favourite, which is obscene..

You can lay the win and 2 place market for guaranteed money atm.

Plus either the chance of an extra place if there are no non-runners..

or the benefit of place terms to 1/4 and (probably) a favourable rule 4 deductions if there is a non-runner..

I got on at ladbrokes at 2.87 (don’t have BlackType)

Small loss on the win (laid half at 3 and will make a decision nearer the off which market to lay the rest) but place laying at 1.1 and 1.2 at the moment so easy money.

Could be that the win comes way in as punters latch on to the 2nd fav EW, first 2 seem fairly evenly matched on ratings.

Got to be some kind of record for a bad EW race.

Laying the place in the 2TP at 1.16. Still a decent arb and a shot at a biggy.

I split between the 2 place and 3 place market.
