Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

Thanks Cliff – but do you have to be betting large amounts to make it worthwhile – I’m strictly in the under £50 bets as I haven’t got the float to cover the lays – keep spending all my profits on the family to keep us going – god bless austerity… :-)

days Cliff. If I’ve say got got €100 ew on a 4/1 and the place goes off at for eg 1.3. I’ll lay €200 on the place and 0 on the win. I’m not risking the whole €200 “if I can go risk free for the sake of €60 or so lay coverage. And a shot at a big rf win.

I’m on a bus and rushing those figures/prices I quoted for the overlay example are a bit off.. But u get where I’m coming from!
+0All depends on your bankroll! If you have 1k at exchange and £200 at bookie you could happily go £50ew on a 10/1 shot and £20 EW on a 20/1 shot and have enough to cover.
For example: £50ew on the 11 (lay 12) with the place being 3/2.2 and £20ew on the 21 (lay 23) place at 5/3.6 would require £504 liability for the 11 shot on the win and £401 liability on the win for the 21. However due to it being the same race your total liability on the win would be £484.
QLs on the win would total £5.90ish for both those horses, adjust your underlay on the place to cover that ie. You could lay £56 on the 3/2.2 for a risk free shot at £32.50 and fully underlay the 5/3.8 for a shot at £24
Add the liability of the places, you well under your total bankroll of £1200.
+1Hills going 6 places in the 4.50 at Naas should through up a bit of value. Seem to have a great nack of finding the faller at the moment though. Hopefully get them out of the way before Chelts!

All sounds excellent that Cliff. My exchange account is always getting wiped out, I’m also sick of paying comms- which in the long run is chucking money away. A rough estimate for me last year would be €3-5k donated in comms. I’m so far ahead now that a few days variance no longer bothers me too much. Having said that if Ive got a large whack on and the price has steamed in-leaving a huge place arb, I’ll limit any big loss risk by overlaying the place arb.

Old Roly will have a chuckle at this though. I was on my way to my 1st boyles shop this morning and busy texting away on bus/foot to his post- whilst pouring myself a Cappuccino in the next door Spa I got so imursed in finishing the reply that I strolled straight out the shop without paying the extortionate €3. 30 seconds later the Indian fella comes storming out shouting ‘oh come back! U ain’t payed’ . I had to show him my bankroll just to try and prove it was a dozy mistake by me!
