Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

I often find the liquidity is too low and doesnt appear until ~15 mins before and then industry prices kick in and the value is gone

scabbadab, do you mind posting your process of doing your betting in the shops? I very rarely bet in shops but when I have the prices aren’t readily available, I’m guessing you use one of the machines rather than the cashier? Are you doing this in England, just I prob only have about 6 betting shops within a 10 min drive?
Most of my online accounts are long banned/restricted to pennies.

Anti social..I’m in Ireland and in range of a lot of Boyle’s/p powers and a few ladbrokes. Ever use machines (bonus offers don’t apply on them) and always use cashiers. Prices are up on a big screen for every race in every shop and adjust when the price changes- obv always write my price on bet and great thing is all these firms pay bog on singles🙃

Enigma…Irish racing is tricky (hard to say if I’m winning much on them) as u say low liquify until close to time. Normally happy to back short prices early doors say around 3/1 and under if there’s a decent bonus on the race ie mb2/fav- EPR- bad ew if the liquify is poor/price is a bit short as the bog will help soften the blow should it drift a bit- not so good on higher prices as bog rarely comes that close to covering drifts on anything above 7/2 or so.
Tricky business and I’m learning too not get too carried away e doors in the Irish stuff chasing value on high price shots with a couple of quid! In the liquify in eprs etc+0
Although thinking about it antisocial maybe in bad each ways it may be worth thinking about catching some on the machines(I know you can’t win mb vouchers on them and don’t think extra places can be got on them but grabbing a quick price on them in bad ews/arbs may be worth a look👍)

Good example of a good opp in a Irish today was the extra place race at Listowel with Boyle’s-ended up 13 runners 4 places 1/4 odds- wasn’t planning on any bets today but popped in 1 boyles 15 mins before off and within a few mins ew arbs were plentiful. Did well on it -catching the 4th for a decent chunk in what turned out to be free shot -as were a couple of others in the top 4/5 in the betting

Just looked at tomorrow’s races, currently looking like Wolverhampton could have 4 races that could be bad ew will try and get some long odds in the morning

I don’t see 4 myself but the last 2 at wolves might be – although ones an 8 runner so not worth risking that so early. Nearly always need a fav pretty close to evens at worst to get much value ideally odds on and not to much over 8 runners- or in short field 2 placer ideally 5/6. But sometimes other dynamics do through up some value when not so obvious.

Yes antisocial am always cross checking latest shop odds with exchange prices in store on mobile. Will lay close to off time but check of course that I have value at time of bet

Just thought of another reason why machine bets are not so good Antisocial.. I doubt very much they pay out BOG on them which is almost deffo the best thing these shops do..so if that’s the case then not much going for them apart from maybe a stone cold arb🤔
