where did you get your lays in- was f all on smarkets- although last second .com about $20 appeared on the place lay on Pivotal at just 2.1- so i gobbled that up

I managed to lay it all on Smarkets Scabba. Was only a £25 EW (don’t want to take the piss too much on a weekday Bet365 race). Layed in chunks – took about £10 7 mins out and the win price started to drift and there wasn’t much liquidity. Then I kept putting in chunks of £5 all in the last 5 minutes before post and that kept getting taken.

Good stuff MRM u know what your doing on the old lay stuff. Just wondered if you were using another site like Matchbook (a place ive never ever even looked!)

Yeah likewise, never used Matchbook – Not sure if they lay extra places, might need to look into that. Before you mentioned laying the place as they start to enter the stalls, I normally look at the win movement about 10-15 mins from start in case it drifts, in which case I tend to lay a bit more early rather than later, but if i’m more confident the price is likely to come in, I tend to start matching a bit of my place through the market in chunks towards the off, so if the price comes in, I still get some of that even lower price

This has maybe been a bit too cautious in the past week but with no betfair and only using Smarkets, I’ll continue dong this
