Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

4.20 hasn’t shaped up during the day so may well be best off avoiding it.
4.30 still looking good though, I’m on Frankie Rapper (17) and Minellatillmorning (23) so far. My Charity is 29 at sportingbet.
+0That was unfortunate. Had a few quid on the 2nd and 3rd at big prices…aught on the line.
Made a small bit on Quasar.
+0For reference. It was about 4 mins before the off 365 reverted to 4 places at 1/4 odds in the 3pm Navan.
+0I think that Chris is pretty honest with his underlaying method. Sometimes he makes a small loss on a race, or leaves the place part run without laying in which case would lose his stake. Sometimes he makes a bigger profit when it places than strict matched bettors would be looking at.
I think I know what matchie is trying to say though.
It can be misleading to beginners looking at the profits per race that Chris is posting and scratching their head.
Some ppl underlaying make £60 on a race. Strict matchers probably make £20 on the same race. But the long run average should be about the same. The same for those not laying at all, just taking small max stakes punts. Should all average out to about the same, probably slightly higher profit the less you lay, but also much higher variance.
+0I dont feel the need to defend myself or my methods in the slightest but if you scroll back through the pages, even just the last 5 or 6 you’ll see that I probably let about 1 in 12, if that, bets on places run. More importantly, I’ve posted up the horses and the prices I’ve taken WELL IN ADVANCE of the race which is way more than matchedickhead ever does.
+0Do you know, I’m all for discussing any methods. I think the traditional matched betting methods are less, and it makes more sense to explore and discuss different strategies! The forums have definitely evolved to something more than just matched betting.
I am also all for keeping as many ppl involved in the forum as possible and keeping it active and as many ideas knocking around as possible.

Tbf to Chris he appears to lay majority of his bets, whereas some of us aren’t laying alot (ok smaller stakes but could add up on a bad run). Personally if i ever put a horse, even if i don’t lay i try to make sure it is pretty consistent with the exchange price. So it could be laid. Unfortunately the low liquidity in alot of these races does mean there is a risk.
I would say any newbie who comes along is often given good cautious advice. Read read read, practice basic horse offers, then try small stakes etc.+0The 16:30 has definitely woken up
Bad Nose 67/65 available for a few mins, got Ted Thistle 34/34
+0On Ted Thistle at 41 and Frankie Rapper 17 in that.
4.20 nothing has presented itself. The 3rd fave is miles out on the exchange along with the rags.
+0Frankie Rapper 17/19.5 b365 and PP
+0Bloody nose has drifted.
This seems a perfect day to just let it go… (only £6 E/W)
+0I was busy at work at all the wrong times of the day today. Pretty disappointed as there looked like so many opportunities. I only got a few bets on and none of them really panned out great.
Ill keep an eye for that evening race in kempton still.
+0Nice win on Frankie Rapper there. I underlayed 4.2/2.94 but probably went lower before the off?
Lost £10 on Minella drifting place but very happy with the days work
+0Nice one guys. Couldn’t get a decent price on My Charity unfortunately.
+040/1 for toolatetodelegate on Paddy for the Kempton 1920.
