I think that MB experience has told on this, I’ve not been doing it long and laid O’Sullivan off when I backed him for a £18 QL. Wish that I’d held off for a while!!

Doesnt really have much to do with MB experience tony but rather knowledge of the game. Ronnie was always going to win his first round match in my mind and those lay odds did not reflect that. We’ve been helped by the fact that the other top 16 players are dropping like flies.

Part of me wants to let his second round match run too, I mean he smashed Barry Hawkins 10-1 in the Masters final in January but I’m taking the lay odds if and when they drop below 2.62 before Sunday. Hawkins did play well in his first round match and I think he has the highest break so far too (140 or above I believe).

I have a free bet on BetStars £20. So I punted that on Hawkins @6.0. So no need to lay Ronnie for me as I’ll break even if he loses.

Was that a waste of a free bet?

I could have layed Ronnie for QL of £10 and be done with it for the rest of the tournament but instead I just wasted what could have been £16 extracted and will have to bet against him or lay him off outright again in the next round if he wins.

But if Ronnie does win then I can lay him for a big profit after the match (I assume) ….

Anyway, I’m happy with it, keeps my interest in the tournament alive.

I layed at 2.68 earlier after he got a century break, I saw it go down to 2.52 at one point. Hope he recovers but hes got two centuries so far so profit whatever happens.

He got two centuries today? Or two counting his first round one. Missed all the sports this morning and this afternoon!
