Channel 4 racing promotion on 11th May

It looks like Mark is basically backing up what I have said for a long time i.e. the opportunities for making much on matchbetting had certainly declined in recent months.

I also agree with him that those doing it from work are cheating their employers abd there time would be better spent trying to better themselves at work,doing a better job and hence then getting rewarded for it That is a better longterm strategy than
matchbetting.

Then there are others who lives seem to have been taken over by matchbetting.

Lol. What’s your problem? Why so defensive? I’m only saying that, in my opinion, the time spent doing the horse racing offers during the week could be better spent elsewhere (from everyone’s perspective). I’m not telling you to stop it… By all means continue.

dingodollar, Mark along with myself, is one of the most knowledgeable and intelligent people on here.
All he has said is at the present time it is very difficult to make it worthwhile when comparing time spent to actual reward.
Of course on every day there will be those who do well on a particular day but over a longer period the rate of return over time spent is no good. I believe is saying there must be better ways of spending your spare time in more beneficial ways.
Reading back through this thread alone people are complaining there profits are well done on what there were and I think the current month has shown how difficult it is to make decent returns consistently.
Most of the better offers have been withdrawn and the gubbings stick is getting more and more use .
But those of you who see it as a hobby, just make sure you dont get addicted to it.

As someone who works full time I wouldnt dream of breaking my contract with my employers by spending tine on my mobile betting during the day.and besides I guess I am lucky in that I enjoy my job and get well paid for it.
I can see both sides if the argument here. People like Mark and Patrick who are obviously clued up and made good returns in the past but are now frustrated at the lack of opportunities and blame it on the newbies.
Others like Ryan,Chris et al trying to supplement their small income with relatively small returns from matchbetting. Small in terms of Mark and Patrick’s world.
On occasion I have worked saturday’s and chatted to the building’s security guy who has approximately 25p ew on 20 races each Saturday.
I told him he would be better off having £10 win on his bet of the day but he told me his aim was to have a financial interest on all the races.
Guess he is the typical mug punter or as the bookies call them ,recreational punters.
There is room for everyone on this site but the abuse Mark has got on here and also Patrick is very uncalled for.
I find those 2 the most clued members of this board.
You may not like Patrick saying matchbetting is dying but I think he has been spot on.

It’s not the fact he says matched betting is dying, it’s repeating it constantly in every thread he enters. What’s the point? Surely such an intelligent man would be better served spending his spare time in more beneficial ways!

I think he has deluded himself into thinking if he tells everyone matched betting is dying enough, people will give up and it will return to it’s former glories for himself.

I just want to say that I am in no way bitter of people who make money from matched betting – I’m sorry if I ever came across like that. My objective on this forum is to help others make as much as they can from it.

To be fair, I post relatively infrequently. When I do post, it tends to be blunt, yet accurate… This is why I can be quite polarising in general. I am not here to hold your hand; I am here to correct mistakes and help others maximise their returns.

My only point in this thread has been: chasing horse racing offers during the week gives you an extremely low return, and I’d be surprised if you’re earning more than minimum wage in the long run. Specifically, the MB2 offers require far more time than people are willing to admit – you will easily spend a solid two hours per day doing them (and earn a few pounds in expected value). On the other hand, you can place qualifiers on the C4/1 offer in the morning and then get on with your day (so I can understand that).

Let me give you an example. Dingodollar, who seems to have a problem with me yet I think his intentions/opinions are aligned with mine, says he will happily make £6k per year in extra income (which is slightly misleading as all matched betting sites like to claim, but we all know your accounts won’t last that long). That’s great! However, you’re spending enormous amounts of time achieving that. As a crude example: I helped my friend to win £1k in two nights from his Sky Bet account on US horse racing. Their odds are extremely slow moving, and the betfair market firms up quickly within the final few minutes before post. This was not lucky… This was guaranteed return. Yes, his account got heavily restricted on the third day. Who cares? You won’t make £1k from Sky if you play the long game – and even if you did, the time spent doing so just isn’t comparable. There are numerous inefficiencies and opportunities that I know of on all bookies. I have mentioned before to people that they should think for themselves, and search for these inefficiencies.

I’m guessing people will continue to be defensive of their strategies during the week, but I only want to open your eyes to alternatives which are far more lucrative – please don’t be offended.
