Mark you state that people should think for themselves.
Therein lies the problem as most on here are incapable of doing that and prefer to be spoonfed.
They also dont like the truth being pointed out either.
I find your posts interesting and useful Mark so please dont be put off by the comments from lesser mortals.

I think, Patrick, the difference between Mark and you is that Mark’s posts are generally useful if, by his own admission polarising, you’re just an arse.

Racing Demon – I don’t know where to start! Had a shot at Ryan and Chris who haven’t even commented on the thread. Likened the whole forum to a little entertainment show – like we are clowns here to entertain him. He went into a whole thing about who has the best job, who has the biggest pay, who is the best employee. Ppl take coffee breaks, lunch breaks, pee breaks, smoke breaks, breaks to take a phone call from the wife, ppl stop at work and chit chat with their colleagues – work is not a sweat shop where you can’t find two minutes to check the racing results. Career isn’t the be all and end all … nobody should have to be asked to justify why they have enough free time during the day or at weekends to check some sports results/news. Ppl have free time (even during work, depending on your job) and they have hobbies, we can’t be out “contributing to society” 24 hours per day. If ppl decide to use their free time making a few pennies and being entertained while they do then what is the problem.

Maybe you have reached your destination already, (dream job, dream employee) – but others are still on different stages of the journey. And for some the destination may be completely different from yours although equally as worthy.

This thread is funny. marks always helpful in posts I get what he means just trying to point out value. The fact is if you go on this forum you are not well off no one well off would bother with matched betting. Either young and trying to make a bit extra during studys, older ones probs either working in a call centre or low level IT. No one really knows anyone on a forum. In really life we all know Patrick is a loser probs on jobseekers, Mark isn’t as smart as he makes out, Ryan doesn’t have a gf, Chris loses all his money on horses every weekend, but let them have there fun on the forums.

Mark, I totally get what you’re saying and it’s a little bit disappointing that it’s been taken up the wrong way here.
At the same time it’s easy to see the flip side to the argument. The entertainment or some people have a few mins while at work to do these.

Personally I’m in town at some stage during the morning every day either with the wife, by myself and doing something with the kid.
I spend maybe 30 mins max going between 4 shops in close proximity and whacking on a few hundred euros in MB 2nd or 3rd races, and I’ve been making good profits from these compared to the minimum time put into it.

I agree with I think Fog it was who said he enjoys these. I like racing, (went last Sunday with the wife thanks to tickets from the a bookie actually) and enjoy picking out selective races to try the offers.

I’ve started doing the Extra place races more in shop too, takes 5 mins, chose horses with a very low qual. cost and the returns are big compared to time put in.

You sound like you’ve stumbled across a few holy grails with a few methods Mark, you’re right in the expected value, for some they’ll take what they can get though. It’s only working for me because I’m doing these in volume which saves the time to really make it pay.
