New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Cheers Johnson , like you I dont suffer fools lightly.
+0Now Matty, off to the naughty step!
+0He doesn’t suffer fools, but that giant carrot up his rear must be a tad unpleasant…
+0mattytrfc from memory you asked how to lay Liverpool to win by 2 or more goals.
If you spend time working it out for yourself you will benefit in the long run.
+0I do agree, if you don’t know what certain lays mean etc I would lay off them (or in this case don’t lay them) excuse the pun. As diving into these offers where you have no clue and just going off someone else says is bound to course trouble…just stick to what you know.
Also the phrase if it sounds too good to be true it probably is…the day you can make £18 off laying one of these offers…that will be the day.+0To be fair the whole matched betting thing probably sounds too good to be true to the general public ;)
+0it must be difficult being perfect

if that ‘perfect’ comment was aimed at me that was nice of you. I have made plenty of mistakes matched betting as we all have, however, these are mistakes of mine OWN. Not trusting what someone else says in the hope they are right when I have no clue what my lay actually means…that’s what Patrick was also referring to.
+0I agree people diving into offers without full understanding is not a great idea. However if someone’s made a mistake in not actually understanding a particular offer/market (this being a good example with HF/FT wins – easy mistake to make) Patrick telling them off and suggesting they read and re-read the TC’s doesn’t really help does it? Not quite ‘constructive’ criticism I think. It’s like a mantra he’s just repeating – must get a kick out of it?
+0Yeah, Matty, thank god you’re not an airline pilot! Imagine how many people your badly informed decision would have just killed! Hundreds of people, no doubt. If you can’t fly a plane safely then you have no business being here!
Bizarre comment.
+0Course it does conner, I have often read and reread offers myself.
Best advice anyone could give after the number one rule of at least understanding yourself what you are actually doing.Personally I would never follow something I didnt understand and just do it because I was told to.
You get nothing in this world for nothing.
Its a game between punters and bookies with each side trying to con the other.
PS Always read the terms and conditions and if it seems too good to be true , reread agian and then a 3rd time. Also try to work out the scenario for yourself
+0Yeah, I heard you don’t have to do years of training to fly a plane. You just read few posts on a blog and you’re away.
+0Patrick, are you a fool or a thief?
+0it wasn’t meant at anyone in particular. I just felt he was getting a bit of a rough ride for a simple mistake. we are all on the same side
here. he was actually trying to help us get a bit of extra money out of the bookies. all be it. it was wrong. we don’t want to discourage anyone from posting good deals that they see.
we ultimately have to check out the deals for ourselves to see if they are any good. if you dont its your own fault.+0Patrick i asked how to lay Liverpool to win by 2 or more goals as i am a newbie, any advice is helpful. Like Charlie said were all on the same side, i made a mistake that’s my problem and i will deal with that and just to let everyone know wont go near cockpits anytime soon ;)
