Doggie snacks on the US masters

  • Golf event starts next thursday. Bookies already going big on the extra places so lets keep a log here (bear in mind the usual place terms for golf is 5 places 1/4 odds)

    Sky 8 places 1/4 odds
    Paddy 8 places 1/5 odds
Stan James 7 places 1/5 odds
    Betfair/Betstars/Boyle 6 places 1/5

Da big dog is hungry and will be having his lunch on these

No! Westwood, J Thomas, Oosthuizen (6-8) with Speith having a shocking first round then pulling it back to win comfortably.

Not too much to ask is it?

just wondering, with the extra place calculator on here (havent used it before) is your each way stake the total stake? or is it just the back of “to win” part. e.e if i want 10 e/w do i put 10 or 20 in that first box, cheers

Your each way stake is half of your total stake, so you would enter £10.00. This is explained if you mouse-over or tap the ‘?’ symbol.

Paddy power still paying 5 places on the golf so decent chance of getting an ew arb.

For example Hoffman 19/19 and 4.6/3.95 for £1.28 guaranteed profit per £10 ew stake.

And Paddy are still showing 5 places on their site.

Rose is 11/12 to win makes 3/2.2 to place so £2+ for each £10ew stake.

Might be more value around I just had a quick look.

Sorry for all the posts. Just playing around with ew bets.

Anyone think there is value in the golf here.

Looking at hoffman again is 21 on Paddy to win and 1/5 1,2,3,4. No lay on 4 place market but on 5 to place is as low as 3.05. I know you can’t lay that price for guaranteed profit because of course it’s a big loss if he finishes 5th.

But if you do a crude estimate of the 4 places based on divide by 4 multiply by 5, you have a crude estimate of 3.8 which is a would-be arb against the implied 5.0 to place on bookie. If that reflected the true odds then it’s a 10% return on investment so worth considering.

Anyone know anyway to prove value on bets like this or to realise the value.

Just take as a value bet? Back and lay the win for a small QL on the win for a value bet on the place.

I’m just looking at it since at Troon last year you had a clear case of a bad ew “race” with two clear favs on the last day but the terms stayed at 3 to place or 2 to place for a while and I’m sure that there had to have been value there.

I’ve figured the overround on the 4 places on Paddy is 358% where it should be 400% so there is value there just a matter of finding a process to identify the value and hoping the value lost on the win part of the bet doesn’t negate the value on the place…..

Hmm. Covered plenty golfers for the place, then took the guaranteed profit on Rory and Berger to cover ql’s!
Suppose reinforces that done properly the worst a ql is will be variance, and no point worrying about covering them at the expense of proper profit
