Johnbo, after the reduction factors you should be able to back your exchange place lays back for minimal or no loss. Clearing your exposure there if you wish.

Then it’s upto you whether you let your bookie bets run or lay in the 2tp market.

I think Johnbo means the situation most of us were in though where the lays are already placed

Think the best strategy is not to lay on the 3tbp market until right near the off tbh. Yes you risk odds drifting but on this race in particular the arbs were so big it would amost have been impossible to make a losing trade using that method. Then if down to 2 places lay on the 2tbp market, and cut your losses

As tempting as it may be (and almost tempted me today) the art of ew arbing usually means laying the place 5-10 minutes before the off.

Oh well made £28 back on Billesdon Bess, arbed on the place at sky. Could have done without it winning though, exchange took a hit.

Today has been one of those difficult days that occasionally pop up. Twice today I have been ready to go on races and fields got reduced. 17 to 15 in the first and 9 to 7 in the 4th. It is annoying when it happens but in this game there are random events that will work well for us and at times will go against us. Thankfully I have always said this I feel in the long run we get more of a rub of the green than the bookies do.

Made around £80 after a mammoth £900 yesterday with the stewards and all that. One thing to note for the next 3 days is that with the results being so favourable to the bookies there could be a lot of things thrown our way on Friday and Saturday.

About 200 down for the week. Lost 50 Monday not getting chance to lay the place of an eway arb that came 4th, had the steward win and some other stuff yday then disaster today

Annoying as with the offers and my restrictions it’s not like I can get my head down and win it back routine offer wise. Hopefully hit an extra place or something tomorrow

Tomorrow doesnt look too good to be honest. Two cracking bad each way races on paper but they have 9 and 8 runners so super high risk especially after today. Weather forecast is crap too.

Will have a look first thing in the morning but tomorrow might be the day to take a breather.

Tomorrows 9 runner race is already down to 6 so theres one opportunity gone.

Awooga that is good advice, something definitely to consider when the weather isn’t great.

I usually don’t EW arb until close to the off if there are 8 runners but with there being 9 well after midday, I thought the 3-35 was a ‘safe’ race.

If you weigh up the odds if there being two non runners after morning declarations and then hitting the 3rd place, it’s 1,000’s to 1 and as Beesty says, it is mostly in our favour.

That said, Lightning Spear was the hardest I’ve ever hit an Ew arb, was on it across numerous bookmakers, saw the non runner to 8 and just knew something else was going to pull out…ah well I’m sure we will all make it back by the end of the week (or month!!)

16:45 tomorrow would be incredible… but 8 runners. Avoid completely or at least till close to the off?

Just managed to get a lucky small headstart in that race. For some reason someone was wanting to back Ripley at 2.6 in the 2 to place market.
