Horse Racing (13th Feb)

  • Guess its my turn to create the Horse Race thread!

    Channel 4 Races – Newbury 1:50/2:25/3:00/3:35 Warwick: 2:05/2:40

    My thoughts:

1:50: 8 Runners (Currently) – Sky offering 2nd/3rd, William Hill (Mobile Only), Ladbrokes will both be doing 2nd. Therefore cover 3 horses with those offers, add in bet365 4/1 and also maybe betfairs 3/1. If you are very lucky you could get 1st with Bet365/2nd with WH/Lads & 3rd with Sky, unlikely but you never know!

2:05: 6 Runners – A few low odds here therefore making it a strong possibility to bag a 2nd refund using WH with one and Ladbrokes with another.

2:25: 7 Runners – A few low odds also so not a bad shout again.

2:40 3 Runners – and therefore probably not worth touching.

3:00 5 Runners – therefore I would wait to see if there are any non runners, one donkey being 100/1 therefore could be a good chance on this one.

3:35 22 Runners – I doubt i’ll be touching this one. Sporting bet are doing 2nd/3rd so maybe pick a horse with Bet365 and cover 1st/2nd/3rd depending on qualifying losses, but i’ll probably leave it!

Good luck guys, fingers crossed for a profitable one!!

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

If I put my will hill bet on now, will it still count? No mention of the 2nd place offer on the app yet

Nice write up Ryan, fear I’ll be too busy tomorrow to get on many of these but good luck everyone!

    Ice – their T&Cs says this…
“Offer applies to bets placed after 17:30 the day prior to the running of the qualifying race.”

I am pretty sure William Hill allows bets from the day before…Ladbrokes is however after 9:30am. However, I am not 100% sure therefore you might want to wait until tomorrow! Ah Tony, try get the bets on early or something, even with quite a high qualifying loss’s your bound to get something!

    Fair play Ryan!

I stared typing something up but wasn’t sure if all the offers so didn’t.

Also betway have bet 3 get 1 usually.

The 3.00 at Newbury I can’t figure out. Some have 4 runners listed some have 5. LAmi is also listed in the Warwick race at 240 I think.

And some paddy power races. All Newbury tomorrow.

Well guess we can just wait and see on the 3:00 be nice to have 5 runners though of course!

Wow thats a very good point how is L’ami running in the 2:40 Warwick & 3:00 Newbury, sorry if its a stupid question but I actually know fuck all about horses.

Ryan I know nothing either! But paddy power have only 4 listed for the 3.00 at Newbury. I am taking it that he will run in Warwick and therefore Newbury 3.00 will be down to 4 horses … We will see.

Not just me then ey! Ah that probably would make sense, seems so stupid a race with 3 horses, however, last time I watched one the 8/1 horse won it against the odds!

Not seeing the offers on WH yet? My WH app says money back if 2nd on all W’hampton races tomorrow.
I know they most definitely will do the C4 races too, so just wondering.

Might put a bet on B365 tonight for a shot at the 4/1 offer. Trying to decide whether to back Sykes or Millansini Boy. Any suggestions?

I haven’t even checked to be honest LJH like you say they always do it so I have just assumed that they are doing it. Regards to the 1:50 race I have no clue…I will probably try and back the same horse on sky as bet365 which would result in profit 1st 2nd or 3rd, probably the most sensible thing to do! (depending on qualifying loss’s of course)

Yes it would be sensible to back the same horse as on sky. Trouble is if we wait till tomorrow, odds for a number of those horses are likely to drop below 4/1. At the moment all of them are above the threshold, but only just!

I don’t know much about horses, but a field that open where say 5/6 could win it, I can’t see many of them dropping below 4/1 to be honest…maybe one or two…and therefore I would just back one that is still @5 providing the qualifying loss is alright on it.

One of my mates got a pop up on login on 888 sports saying there was 2nd place refunds at Newbury tomorrow. I haven’t had an email or a pop up on login though so not sure if it’s invite only?

Anyone else had this? Maybe login and hope you get the pop up?

    Nope, nothing for me, shame.

Its quite common for a horse to be entered in to two different races on the same day, the trainer will decide on the morning which one it goes for. Depends on ground etc. Having read up on the profile of the horse in question tomorrow, I’d be surprised if he goes to Newbury meaning we won’t be able to get on the Paddy offer for that race as it will reduce the field to four.

Obviously dont back and lay until tomorrow morning when its confirmed which race the horse has been entered in.
