Profit in May
-
I started matched betting in April after having read about being able to make £500 a month.
Like everyone advised I have kept records of all my bets but in May I only made £116 from match betting excluding 3 or 4 sign-up offers.
I have already been restricted by 3 bookies and I am seriouly thinking about giving up as the time spent does not seem to justify the returns,
Is that what a lot of others have found and is that why there is so little activity in posts these days, and also why a lot of posters seem to have dissappeared.I have made a couple of mistakes letting 2 £5 free bets expire but that is not really diastrous, costing me say £8.
What do others think. Is it really worth all the time and effort.

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

John mate. No offense but if you have only managed to make £116 in your first month with a fresh set of accounts then you must be a bit thick? There is another thread on this forum that explains one way you can make £10k in about that same period not even doing matched betting, so of course £1-2k a month is easily possible with the current offers until you get gubbed. Like I said, open your eyes, do a bit of research and stop waiting to be spoonfed the info.
+0Just not possible at the moment Walter from match betting alone.
And it appears a lot of the bighitters above agree with me.+0It’s dying. Adapt, change your tactics and move on or moan moan moan
+0This johnd guy has to be someone on the windup. Can’t believe i fell for it.
+0Unless it’s multiple accounts on Betfair and Bet365, then I can’t see how you can make £1000 on 3/1 and 4/1 offers. This would be 8 to 10 winners from the featured races over the weekend, over 1 week maybe 8 to 10 winners. Seeing as you can never predict a race horse, favourites that are complete shite and outsiders that are really very good, unless of course its insider tips?
Maybe some proof of these winnings will be required to back up the claims!
+0Just under 700 for me in may a big down from 1200 in april but not to bad, like people keep saying, you wont make much if you wait for offers to be posted in here. Do some reseach and try different methods. As for Epsom this weekend my biggest profit was from US Sargent or whatever it was called, All the tipsters had it as fav and said that the irish back there horses late, 400 in the morning at 7.5 layed at 5 made your months profit and some in one lay.
+0Walter it looks like you are the wind-up merchant.
Not one person on here believes you.+0Get regular offer updates, tip and tricks, big offer alerts and more straight to your inbox.
I made £895 in May, this included risk free slots and matched betting on multiple accounts.
+0Wow, some of you are doing great, umm dannyK you backed US army ranger at 7 and then waited and layed at 5 that’s called trading not match betting you took a risk. yes you made over £180 but trading !!!!! I placed a bet on the winner at 10 and made £250 but that’s a punt so I actually don’t count it towards my match betting profit.
+0Things getting a bit tetchy here guys. Does it really matter who makes what?? – you’re either happy doing MB or not . If yes get on with it. If not well just move on.
+0I don’t count it in my MB profit, I was just pointing out there are more methods than just straight forward matched betting if you can be bothered.
+0So what other directions are people going in to try to keep things going? Or is it just a case of checking all the bookies every day to find the offers that don’t get blogged?
+0I made quite a bit in May from backing and laying horses at literally the last minute. If you hunt around a bit you will find that some bookies are very slow to update prices compared with the exchanges. I have been making more in one afternoon doing this than i am making over a whole week doing bookie offers. Of course eventually i will get gubbed (probably sooner rather than later because i seem to keep backing outsiders that win and having to make withdrawals). But I’m getting bored of waiting for offers so am gonna go for the go big or go home approach.
+0Wottsy, .Its a risky strategy if you win with bookies, I try to avoid it as much as possible. The thing with horse racing is you never know who is going to win, I reckon 9 times out of 10 I win on the exchange. Try getting a few multiple accounts and switch them around.
+0Which bookies are you using wottsy
