Security / Tracking Concerns

  • Hey there !

I´m just starting my own matched betting approach and still consider and reconsider a couple of things before I plan to push it more extensively.

I would appreciate help / advice when it comes to how one should deal with all the ways of tracking from bookmakers.

I´m quite aware by now that most bookmakers “infect” my system with data mining programs like iesnare and others to get as much Information about me as possible.

There is much controversy online whether this is a serious issue one should prevent or not.But in the end I always come up with the conclusion that it´s probably a bad idea to just allow these programs to keep running in the backround revealing all the sites I visit especially if I use a lot of bookmakers at the same time.
But I´m still open minded at that point.

So I would be curious to hear from you guys what kind of “security” guideline you apply to prevent the bookmakers from spying on you and thereby closing your accounts sooner than later or if for some of you it doesnt seem to make a difference.

Is anyone of you convinced of using software like ghostery or any kind of VPN for matched betting ?

    All input appreciated.

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

    there’s a few threads about iesnare :

personally, I block iesnare (and mpsnare) in the hosts file, and have ghostery installed. Another factor is adobe flash players cookies. Unfortunately you can’t just block or uninstall flash player as a lot of bookies websites won’t load without it.

You may think my tin-foil hat is too tight but I really don’t believe that anything I do online is anything to do with the Food Standards Agency or the Scottish Ambulance Service Board, but according to the government and thanks to the snoopers charter, it apparently is.

I blocked iesnare and have ghostery and adblock running. I try not to go directly from the bookies to the exchange. I still got gubbed from boyle (yes I’m still sulking about that) but no one else so far..
I haven’t been placing the max bets on either – I’m thinking smaller amounts might look less suspicious. Yes you ‘ll make less profit but if the accounts last longer it’s swings/roundabouts…
