SkyBet Murray to win Australian Open: 7.50

  • ‘Enhanced’ to 7.5: worth doing and waiting for the lay odds to drop in a few days?

  • New to matched betting?

I think Raonic is quite overpriced for this, will watch and maybe overlay if he gets 2 sets……

Well, Murray goes through after epic battle. But his odds on the final are soooooo bad!!!!

Which basically means a profit cannot be guaranteed!
Not only that, to lay him enought to get my stake back should he lose, I would lose £165 if he wins!

Not sure what to do in this situation?!?!

Was not expecting the odds to be that high on him

The odds are really bad, I layed £20 at 5.9 before the semi final to guarantee a profit of £5, and then hoped to lay my other £5 if he got into the final at odds of say 4.5, but the odds are still around 5.9

Federer was around 3.5 to win the semi, leave it a day I think…..

If you backed him at 7.50 and have held off until now, you can lay him at 5.6 on Betfair for £14.19 profit (assuming a stake of £50). Can’t shake a stick at that considering the whole thing was a speculative gamble in the first place.

Edit – I would imagine that a fair few British bookies will also be offering enhanced odds on Murray or free bets if he wins etc.

I laid my stake int he last two games like an acca so now my losses are £50 + £12.75 + £25.61 = £88.36

The only way I can win money is if Murray wins. Which does look very unlikely given that his game today was 4 hours long and he only has one day to recover.

I’m going to have to risk it I think. So I break even if he loses and lose £140 if he wins
    What a bloody nightmare situation

Well I’ve decided to play safe and accept a loss on this one. Lesson learned. Did not realise that Murrays odds would be so long. If they were the same as Federers in the semi then I would be fine.
However I’ve had to accept a £22.70 loss if he doesn’t win and a £21.56 loss if he does

Not ideal but thankfully I’m £44 up this weekend so far so I’ll still be in profit.

I would be fine if I hadn’t laid him in the previous two games but I thought I had enough profit to play with. Silly me

Well his odds were always going to be high so long as djokovic got to the final…does sound like a nightmare situation you got yourself in, definitely should have planned more lesson learnt i guess

In the same boat ice magic, decided I am going to try and lay off Murray in play. I know its gambling but the odds are so poor, I am prepared to risk it.

In the same boat and doing ice’s approach but putting a few free bets on Andy to win to cover losses
