well at least the ladbrokes draw offer came in, would have been £15 better off if France had won outright but matched betting aside i’d rather see portugal win.

Well. That’s all folks. Thanks to all on the forum for contributing. I’m not one for posting exactly how much or how little I’ve made, but one thing’s for sure – I have made decent money over the last month and I am gubbed with Laddies, Hills, Coral, Paddy and Boyles.

    Roll on August.

I wiped out about half+ of my profits from the Euros by accidentally laying a wrong horse yesterday, without realising until 2 hours after the race settled. Re-evaluating my life & matched betting right now.

We all make mistakes. I stuck a three figure sum on a ‘remain’ vote in the referendum at odds of 1.2. Woke up in the morning to find the lot gone.

If you keep your accounts, you will more than make it back in the long term.

PS hope your username isn’t your actual name, otherwise your accounts might not last too long with some of the bookies.

Just gotta remember it’s lost profits not lost real hard earned money when you have a bad loss day, managed to lose £195 between cocking up a lay and wincashlive going into administration in the same day

Tonight could have been SO profitable, but instead it was a bag of shite. Glad these Euros are over tbh, getting sick of losing free bets when punting them and “winning” them when laying them off and MBing them “properly”

Variance is a cruel mistress 😉

I actually feel better that I’m not only one who lost out tonight, poor game, worst team won like Greece in 2004. I’m still up for the tournament, but what a pile of stinkin’ poo it was…

Greece actually won a group game though (against hosts Portugal) and drew against Spain as well as beating good teams in the knock outs. They didnt finish third in their group without winning a game and go to extra time in all but one of their knock out games. They also had the player of the tournament in their team, it was much easier rooting for them than it was for Portugal this year.

The lack of goals actually contributed loads to my profits as I was constantly laying over 4.5 goals but yeah with free bets and the bwin offer (extra winnings if over 3.5) goals it was pretty poor. The tournament in general was really boring, group stages killed by the third placed team having a high chance of going through and the knock outs were only saved by the likes of France so I hope they revert back to the old format in 2020 but I doubt it because money speaks a high volume in football.

The format in 2020 is weird, still 24 teams, but played in 13 different countries

After getting a lovely double with Williams/Murray I lost it all back after that pile of poop last night. Essentially we all like a gamble and its so tempting to have a punt isn’t it ? Still its all relative and profit is profit in the long run

Yeah exactly, losses are just lisses from overall profit rather than our bankrolls.

Just hope Betsafe pay out today.

That was the game of the coach. His tactic and wise decisions had brought the team to the winning. The match was boring, Portugal played risk free game. My heart is with France!

    @Traider:
Funny you say that because I lost 300 quid on the Brexit vote too! (I got good odds and would have made 200 quid profit – I even could have laid and still made 100 or so quid, but I genuinely did not think Leave was possible). That and losing because of my horse fuck up has been pretty gut-wrenching.

You’re right though – I need to remember that this I haven’t lost as such, because this was money I’d never withdrawn from the bookies/exchanges. It’s just frustrating because I don’t even know how I fucked it up on the horses, and I spent a lot of time over the Euros betting and making decent profits, only to essentially waste all that time by losing the money.

And yeah, this isn’t my name. Just made it up so I could use it on the blog comments too ha.
