I’ve got 8 golfers covered for 6-8 places…think those are the way to go to make things more interesting (i.e. likely) to win

Might look again at your tip feltip tomorrow night though

    FOUR!

I’ve found genuine Eway arbs before on the 6 place market, but unless the lay odds look genuinely out of sync I’d recommend just doing the 5 place lay….. we’re generally laying for insurance to smooth variance rather than gaining value.
I got all excited at clearing my ql’s and turning a small profit earlier on in the year on an Eway arb on Rory….. then of course he comes 6th, which I know is an individual example rather than proof alone but shows how you can miss out for the sake of a few quid which don’t matter in the grand scheme

I assume that if there are ties, and 6/7/8 places don’t actually exist, then these wouldn’t hit? As this is a regular occurrence, seems pretty unlikely these will ever hit – as you first need your choices to appear in these positions (highly unlikely in such large fields, and the fact that with golf it’s very rare you actually see all, sometimes any, of the big boys in the top positions), plus you need those positions to actually exist.

Your winnings just get split, so you are still in profit. Example.

Paul Casey finishes tied 6th with 4 others. Your extra place profit for 6th place would be £100. Now it is split 4 ways so you’re still up £25.

Paul Casey finishes tied 4th with 4 others. You get an additional cut factor, bookies would pay out 4th, 5th and 6th (so 3 places between 4 players is 3/4 payout, £75), whereas the exchange only pays out 4th and 5th (so 2 places betwen 4 players is 1/2 payout, £50) = £25 winnings.

Obviously the more tied places the less your winnings, but it is still winnings. And yes, the holy grail is to get your player to hit extra places on his own.

The extra place can help beyond that with head heat rules
Eg you hit joint 5th, payout full on bookie (as 5th and 6th) but only half on exchange as dead heat for 5th

On the different markets I just did molinari at 80-1. Choices-
1/4 the odds you were getting approx 210-1 on hitting 6th
1/5 lay 5 place market approx 180-1 for each of 3 places available to hit
1/5 lay 6 place market approx 160-1 for each of 2 places available to hit

So in this case the 8 place markets offer less value than 6, but obviously better chance of hitting. And laying on 6place erodes some value.

Think I’m done. 9 extra place golfers, 4 of which go up to 8.

Johnson in the Genting birdie offer, and half to lay still on him from the betstars offer to hopefully clear any ql’s.

If im gubbed with Paddy will they still pay out on the extra places?

    betman 40

Yes, it’s a market they are offering not a freebet type promotion. So the bet you are taking is set at 1/5 the odds for 8 places

Stake restrictions are usually how bookies limit you on these, eg I can’t get on a few of the bookies as they won’t take a penny.
Slightly on a tangent but racebets refuse bets on extra place markets if you are gubbed!
