William Hill New Horse Racing Offer

  • Hi all. I’m fairly new to matched betting so still getting to grips how to play certain offers. My first thought was this looks good but not sure how to play it. Any advice??

    HIGH 5
    Our New Horse Racing Offer

    One in three National Hunt (jumps) races were won by five or more lengths last season.

    With that in mind, we give you our new racing offer – High 5. Place a bet on selected jumps meetings, and if a horse wins by 5 or more lengths…

    » Back the winner and you’ll get a 25% bonus.
    » Finish second and get money back as a free bet.

    There’s a High 5 meeting every single day:
    ‣ Friday and Saturday – All jumps meetings.
    ‣ Sunday to Thursday – One selected meeting.
    ‣ All live Channel 4 races

    It all starts this Friday, just in time for the top class racing at Cheltenham’s three day Open Meeting.

    So if your horse romps home, or finishes behind a clear winner, we’ve got this jumps season covered.

    @orlandosteve – why do you advocate not backing favs for this offer? I don’t understand how that is giving up value and takes more time? My results would suggest otherwise, but keen to understand what you mean?

    @matchedem
    – sticking £25 on a 1.17 shot is possibly one of the most suspect things you could do… I mean, which mug ever does that rather than whacking a huge stake on such a strong, low-priced fav?

    @TonyC
    – not looked properly yet, but my strategy will revolve around that posted above… if it ain’t broke and all that. Looking at Warwick I think Global Stage (2:00), Landin (14:30) and Act Now (16:10), with maybe Shaama Grise (14:45), West of the Edge (15:50) and Any Drama (16:25) from Exeter. I will play it by ear, 10 mins out from the race as always though.

    Tony,

    My apologies, it’s the first time that I’ve had chance to come back on here since I posted. Thank you so much for your lengthy reply, it’s very helpful.

    Cheers,

    Tony

    No problem @tonyr

    First race at Warwick was a stroll then – shame I was on the wrong one, haha! 🙁

    Did anyone lay it?

    I was thinking about doing it to move money to my exchange account but didnt get round to it.

    @Tony, you have mis understand my post. I wouldn’t advocate backing EVERY favourite in EVERY race, that’s was his plan. I was trying to point out that unless you have a strong favourite or a low qualyfying loss/profit you should steer clear of that race.

    Nothing to see here today.

    On a side note and I don’t mean to do a matchdem but.. I got a £25FB from Paddy’s MB2nd to SP favourite offer on the 14:30@Lingfield. Favourite was 1.61 2nd favourite 3.0 all the others 8+.. I meant to post it pre race but was late leaving the office.

    I stand corrected-Miss Oscarose (16:30@Lingfield) stumbles at the last and comes 2nd by 5+ (Result TBC)

    Is anyone backing more than 1 horse in a race for this offer?

    I’m sure the original T&Cs mentioned it was first bet only on a race but I can’t see this now (maybe it was never there).

    @bbobb – I’ve been awarded the 25% extra free bet for backing the winner in the 14:30 today – this was the second bet I placed on that race, so it appears you can back several and still qualify.
