William Hill New Horse Racing Offer

  • Hi all. I’m fairly new to matched betting so still getting to grips how to play certain offers. My first thought was this looks good but not sure how to play it. Any advice??

    HIGH 5
    Our New Horse Racing Offer

One in three National Hunt (jumps) races were won by five or more lengths last season.

With that in mind, we give you our new racing offer – High 5. Place a bet on selected jumps meetings, and if a horse wins by 5 or more lengths…

» Back the winner and you’ll get a 25% bonus.
» Finish second and get money back as a free bet.

There’s a High 5 meeting every single day:
    ‣ Friday and Saturday – All jumps meetings.
    ‣ Sunday to Thursday – One selected meeting.
    ‣ All live Channel 4 races

It all starts this Friday, just in time for the top class racing at Cheltenham’s three day Open Meeting.

So if your horse romps home, or finishes behind a clear winner, we’ve got this jumps season covered.

Yep, can also hit 5+ lengths AND money back 2nd for betting on multiple horses in the same race, 4pm race looking interesting imho

Just a heads up really! Tomorrow’s High 5 looks really good… Mostly long races with 6-8 runners, and some good favs…. This could be the motherload!!!!!!!

Yep, some pretty tasty looking races today,. provided no non runners spoil our chances in a couple of the races.

Nice little BOOM on the first race just there, so a good start to the day’s racing

Just used my Get Out Of Jail Free card there… lumped onto the Fav at 2.0 just before the off and couldn’t get a lay on.
As soon as the race started the price started drifting all the way up to about 3.0 as it wasn’t travelling well at all and the 2nd fav was coasting.
Eventually laid about half my stake at 2.4 to try and get something back.
Horse wins easily by 8L giving me a £40 profit plus the bonus.

3 favs from 3 so far today all by the distance.

Been watching these trying to get on but can’t seem to manage a QL of less than £7-8 with £100 stakes so I decided it’s not worth the risk. Do you accept the risk or manage to lower the QL?

Today has been particularly terrible to get low QL, so won nowt so far…. Gutted 🙁

    @ Chris M

Usually you get get a low QL for £1-3… per £100 staked, sometimes a QP… Today the odds are too far apart! Well done for those taking a risk!!! Payoff!!!

@chrism Read back through the thread for tips on minimising QLs

I do agree that some speculation (gambling!) has been required thus far today

You do have to be watching quite closely too.

4/5 by the distance, this offer is insane-although it hammers your Smarkets balance! I’m betting the money back out of Hills now, won’t do the account any harm to lose a few bets-no doubt I will now hit a 14/1 winner!

To the guys that are struggling with QL, read through the entire thread, Sometimes you have to take Hills price and wait for the market to kick in at Smarkets for your lay. Whilst this could be considered gambling, if you look at your overall profit on the offer it offers value, if you end up with £10+ QL on one race as a percentage of your overall profit on the offer it’s minuscule. This approach usually gives you a QP anyway.

Yesterday was stunning, 2 cards today and looks below average.

Bigger fields for sure and at least 3 non-qualifying races already, but still plenty of short(ish) priced favs and plenty races over 2m.

Had to reload Smarkets again today – the ever increasing balance at Hills is the only downside to this offer. Fingers crossed I need to reload it again tomorrow!

Two 2nd places and some money to the exchange, I’ll have that Ton
