Hi all. I’m fairly new to matched betting so still getting to grips how to play certain offers. My first thought was this looks good but not sure how to play it. Any advice??

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Picked the wrong fecking one in the first….
+0Think we are all sorted but thank you, I originally thought that only the exchange reduced the odds (as Betfair shows your new odds where as William hill displays my original odds)
Is there ever an instance where rule 4 would cause an issue, assuming I backed and laid at close odds for a small ql, even if rule 4 happens after this both set of odds would get reduced by the same %?
+0Yeah I picked the wrong one too but £25 free bet at least.
+0Got Awesome Rosie in the 3pm and if she doesnt win thats my William Hill account empty. I lumped £300 on that the fav in the 2pm and also lost all my 4 Means More bets over the weekend. Probably good to take a few days off this offer anyway, I’ve had more than £400 in free bets since Saturday.
+0Grrrr Awesome Rosie now a non-runner. Ridiculous amount of non runners today, 5 in that race alone.
+0Yep, Rule 4’s can screw you over. Another reason it’s best to bet close to the off. Having said that BOG can be a big help if it wins, I backed a horse the other day at 13/1 it won at 20/1, big payday. Swings and roundabouts I suppose.
+0I’ve got ground under repair at 1500 and goonjin at 1530, haven’t got one for 1600 yet.

I’m down to my last £100 in my WH account… had over 3k in it a couple of weeks ago.
+0Gone with Authorized Too in the 3pm now. Such an open race, worth going for whatever has closest odds.
+0Can you explain in what circumstances rule 4 can cause an issue? Assuming you back and laid at close odds.
+0I could do without yours winning Chris, got it as a £50FB!
+0Agincourt is my free bet here
+0Jon
Rule 4 is an issue when you haven’t managed to lay a bet that you’ve backed at the bookie. You’ll need to manually calculate your “new” odds by reducing the back odds by the appropriate percentage (this depends on the price that the withdrawn horse/s were).
If you dont take Rule 4 in to account and lay at the same price you backed, you’ll be at a loss should the horse win as the liability at the exchange will be greater than the return at the bookie.
+0This offer’s been so bad recently.
+0And as I said this Flashman gets me a 50FB. Thank you.
