William Hill New Horse Racing Offer

  • Hi all. I’m fairly new to matched betting so still getting to grips how to play certain offers. My first thought was this looks good but not sure how to play it. Any advice??

    HIGH 5
    Our New Horse Racing Offer

    One in three National Hunt (jumps) races were won by five or more lengths last season.

    With that in mind, we give you our new racing offer – High 5. Place a bet on selected jumps meetings, and if a horse wins by 5 or more lengths…

    » Back the winner and you’ll get a 25% bonus.
    » Finish second and get money back as a free bet.

    There’s a High 5 meeting every single day:
    ‣ Friday and Saturday – All jumps meetings.
    ‣ Sunday to Thursday – One selected meeting.
    ‣ All live Channel 4 races

    It all starts this Friday, just in time for the top class racing at Cheltenham’s three day Open Meeting.

    So if your horse romps home, or finishes behind a clear winner, we’ve got this jumps season covered.

    I feel your pain Chris. EW Arbing really kills me. It’s the temptation of a decent guaranteed profit over the chance of a big win.

    I too underlayed Zebeel but took the gauranteed profit on Global Ruler!

    The EW arbs dont come along often enough, so I tend to take what I can.

    Had zbout 5 ew arbs today and only one came off (missed global, just my luck). Hard work for a few pennies.

    BOOM! Got on Royal Ruby 10 mins before the off when I saw its price tumbling, but then it drifted back out so I let it run. £500 profit BA BA BOOM. Sweating but love when a mistake goes your way!

    a, so by my reckoning you risked about £180? That’s not matched betting that’s gambling, not judging just saying.

    Matchdem, 1 horse per race? You surprise me “Da Big Dog” doesn’t know the terms!

    @a – your dog looks fiercer than Matchies

    orlando – of course Matchie is right. Only one horse can win and only one horse can come 2nd. Of course Matchie gets it right.

    Orlando disneylando, it was 200. I admit it was a mistake, I wouldn’t have liked to go into the race unmatched, but it was the favourite and my QL would have been £40 if I’d have locked in so while it’s not matched betting, it’s something that happens from time to time.

    Sleepless, my dog is fiercer because it’s the true BIGDOG. All a bit of fun anyway!

    Matchie I agree, you are the fiercest in the pound. But I’m too fierce to be restricted to a pound. I roam free, hunting out the biggest profits in the wilderness while you’re spoon fed measly profits by the pound.

    you do talk a lot of sense though, very knowledgeable and I agree about the easiest way to get gubbed is backing that many horses. Mental to think otherwise

    so i’m doing pretty well with this offer, i’ve got quite a few free bets, i’ve placed a few of them recently and they have been saying “referring to trader” then it pauses for a few seconds and goes through without issue….should i be concerned….?

    Probably yeh its usually the beginning of the end. So make sure you take them for plenty more free bets before you lose the promotion!

    @Jonh

    Me and a few friends have been doing this offer since it started. We found there’s a chance that any freebet over 10s on horses will be referred recently. With this i’ve been taking lower odds to stretch out the account longevity. Normal money seems to be alright however, it’s just the freebets that have been referred.

    One of us lost an account an hour after a referral.

    I suspect that the fact that your friend lost an account after a referral is probably just a coincidence. Referels for bets/accounts being gubbed have no coalition, they are completely different things. Bets being referred hapen for a number of reasons. 1. The bookie hasn’t taken enough money on the markets available. 2. You have a history of winning large amongst at large odds on certain markets-for instance I won £500 at odds of 10/1 on a football correct score bet, as a consequence I struggled to get bets accepted on correct score bets-usually they would be referred and I would be offered a lower stake. Generally speaking these kind of restrictions can be lifted at Hills. In my example after I had lost a few correct score bets I am now able to bet normally again. They are basically being over protective, taking the view that you have some kind of knowledge of the market your betting on because your bet came in at high odds. As we all know, losing your FB’s at the bookie is the desired outcome, this is one of the reasons why.

    @orlandosteve

    Both our posts are speculation to be fair, you have no idea it wasn’t due to being referred. It seems odd that it’s only happening on freebets, as my original post normal money seems to be fine. It’s an observation that we’ve made, and with the swift gubbing afterwards it just rattled our cages.

    Your correct neither of us know, but I’m sure the freebets your placing are at high odds and your normal bets are at considerably lower odds. I can guarantee you that if you reveresed this your freebets would go through fine and your cash bets would be referred.
