William Hill New Horse Racing Offer

  • Hi all. I’m fairly new to matched betting so still getting to grips how to play certain offers. My first thought was this looks good but not sure how to play it. Any advice??

    HIGH 5
    Our New Horse Racing Offer

One in three National Hunt (jumps) races were won by five or more lengths last season.

With that in mind, we give you our new racing offer – High 5. Place a bet on selected jumps meetings, and if a horse wins by 5 or more lengths…

» Back the winner and you’ll get a 25% bonus.
» Finish second and get money back as a free bet.

There’s a High 5 meeting every single day:
    ‣ Friday and Saturday – All jumps meetings.
    ‣ Sunday to Thursday – One selected meeting.
    ‣ All live Channel 4 races

It all starts this Friday, just in time for the top class racing at Cheltenham’s three day Open Meeting.

So if your horse romps home, or finishes behind a clear winner, we’ve got this jumps season covered.

    You’re missing the point steve.

Sky claim to be best priced on all favourites at one meeting per day. However, you’re likely to find favourites at better prices at other bookies. I told Sky this contradicts their claim but they said it applies to the SP.

So it is a gimmick because they are claiming to be top price but you could back it at another bookie who offers BOG and get a better payout if the odds shorten.

BOG and best priced on favourites shouldnt mean the same thing.

Ok, so do Sky not give you increased odds if the horse goes off at a higher SP than you backed at?

Sky go bog anyway, from what Chris says the best odds at a given race is the gimmick because it offers nothing more than bog does.

Here’s an example, its hypothetical but it did happen to me when I was betting a few months back, the same day I queried on live chat.

A horse was favourite at a meeting that Sky claimed “best price on all favourites today”

Favourite was 4/1 at Betfred – backed it
Favourite was 7/2 at Sky so not best priced at the time as per Sky’s claim – I watched it but never did it go to 4/1

Horse went off at 3/1 and won the race.

So Fred paid me at 4/1 as per BOG, Sky would have paid it out at 7/2, the only instance they would have paid out more would have been if the odds lengthened aka BOG.

Sad to see how much this offer has declined recently just before the bookies bury it along the jumps season. Oh well, nothing good lasts long innit.

Touch Kick slows up approaching the line, realistically need an 8 length lead to win by 5.

Managed a small Arb took Hills 2.75 price layed at 2.66 so not all bad.

That’s what the reality has been as of late. Stupid donkeys making all the way up and slowing down before the line.

You know where I’d advise Hills and Smarkets put their odds in?

Absolute disgrace – 1 minute before the off and the clear favourite is priced at 2.62 with the exchange odds being 2.90. I literally rejected a mate for a game of footy this afternoon to stay home and try to win money – and these fucking bastards are taking the piss!

Come on guys, be reasonable. No jockey is considering the William Hill High 5 offer whilst they’re mounting their rides. Not to mention its considerably warmer out there today, all the more reason to ease up on the poor horses if they’re clearly going to win. No horse needs to die of exhaustion just so you can get your free bets.

Chris bit off topic but do you still do EW arbing? When I went through the monthly profits list seen you pass the 2k mark doing that can you tell me how much time did that require a day

Mickey, official result shows It came second at 2.625, so Hills odds were spot on-its the Smarkets odds that were skewed.
