won big on the £250 bonus, now stuck in

  • Hi,

A little help please, after doing ok for a few weeks i signed up for one of the 250 offers and won both big bets, now i have 1500 stuck in in a 15x rollover account. Any advice, and, at this point i think i need to make a calculated loss.

    Best Regards

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Fogblog probably has the best advise, bet on the favourite but make sure its at the minimum odds required for the wagering. as for the amount per bet, it really depends on how quickly the want to get through it, and how much the bookie in question let you put on. They probably wouldn’t blink at say £200 on Arsenal on Barcelona tonight, but it might be a bit more questionable if you lump £1400 on Vietnamese womens bobsled division three.

    HI,

I’m undecided whether to try and get the money out via the exchange in £50 long shots or to bet through the £7000? but that rollover is a lot of bets!

    Thanks

I’m confused now. I thought you couldn’t fund the wagering?
if you can put the money in the exchange then just bet through the rollover at the minimum odds needed until you either lose it to the exchange or meet the wagering requirements and can withdraw.
Do not be tempted to “get your money out with longshots” because as you should have just learnt longshots DO win! if they didn’t, there would be no point to sport. Why bother competing if the favourite ALWAYS wins? If you win a £100 bet at 9/1 all of a sudden you will have £1000 in your bookie and a £1000 less in your exchange to play with.

    HI,

    Thank you for your comment.

At the minimum odds of 1.7 on 7000 i would need a liability of 11900 in the exchange unless my calculations are incorrect.

    Which is a lot.

    Thanks

yes. but I think I must be missing your point. if you have the money, then surely its better to do the rollover and keep it (or most of it minus the loses you make) rather than just giving up on it and losing all the money you have sitting in the bookie now? The theory of matched betting remains the same, its just the amount of cash and the amount of bets that’s changed.

    The liability of £7000 @ 1.7 isn’t £11,900 like

The easiest way I’ve found to lose at Bookies is the horses. Bet on the favourite, watch the odds moving as you can get an arb or very small QL. You have to see it through the exchange. Hope your bookie is financially sound

So, after the winning streak continued i got up to £2000, i have ~£1900 in there now but they have now restricted my betting amount to not more than £20 on big football game £1 on smaller football games and £1 on horse racing. With roughly another £3500 is rollover this will be impossible now, there emailing response was ‘they cannot help any further, its within there t and c’s to restrict accounts’ < only those who win it seems.

    Any inputs?

    Thanks!

It sounds like you’re going to struggle, unless they give you more time. I would suggest that you might have to play hard ball here. I would write to them saying that you understand they have the right to restrict your bets, but that you believe it constitutes unreasonable behaviour which renders the account unusable for your gambling needs, and could be construed as being intended to deny you the welcome promotion. You could say that you intend to provide details of your case to the Competition & Markets Authority in relation to their investigation into the online gambling market.

Ideally you’d like them to remove the limit on your bets, but otherwise giving you more time before you lose your bonus and winnings would be second-best. Did you continue matched betting, or have you just been punting uncovered bets?

Matched most so am down most of the 2k, only the last 200 or so after they restricted i punted as i thought there’s no point continuing.

    There last reply:

__You are obviously free to contact the GC or Ibas and___ we will assist them with any inquiry__ they present. Please note trading are within their rights to__ adjust customer limits, up__ or down, as and when they deem____ necessary and that will be contained within the companies terms.
Very sorry we cannot be of further help___

Sorry to hear of your situation.

With those restrictions you are really screwed. It is totally unreasonable and EXACTLY the kind of thing that the Competition & Markets Authority are investigating the bookie industry for. You should definitely report this to them.

    Which bookie is this?
