I imagine the bet would have been voided at the time of closing your account.

Any cash funds should be returned to you.

    Nice offer that @jamesy85.

That’s why it’s always worth letting the bookies contact you via email and SMS. Some really good offers to be had.

That would be ideal @joesnape, fingers crossed for you!

I’ve just read through the terms @joesnape and I think you’re right.

‘Bets from Deposit funds will not count towards wagering requirement. Only bets using bonus money will count towards it.’

So, as you only have deposit funds remaining, the wagering requirement should have been met.

‘Manchester City -2.5’ should work fine.

It sounds like you can just do this as a risk-free bet.

Use the ‘Risk-Free Bet’ setting on the calculator and in the ‘Cashback’ field, enter the amount you expect to extract from the £100.00 bonus in the event your bet loses.

If you’re unfamiliar with risk-free bets, see my Risk-Free Bet Strategy page for a walk-through guide on how it should be done.

It may be the case that Nationwide have blocked your deposits as an anti-fraud measure.

You might just need to give them a call to let them know that your card hasn’t been stolen and it was you trying to make those deposits. You should be fine after that.

It’s frustrating but at the same time reassuring that the bank is proactive in looking after you as a customer.

I had a look at this one earlier in the week @betty-mcbetface and there was no value in it.

The odds made it difficult to minimise our qualifying loss and the trigger odds of Tiger Woods winning were just too long to make it worthwhile.

    That’s a fair question @warwick.

0.0 – 0.5 isn’t necessarily a good rule of thumb, as it depends on the odds.

If you’re looking to match a free bet, you should be searching for high odds. In that instance, 8.00/8.50 and 10.00/10.50 would be great matches.

On the flip side, if you’re looking to place a qualifying bet, you should be searching for low odds. In that instance, 1.50/2.00 and 2.00/2.50 would be poor matches.

‘Close odds’ just means odds that enable us to minimise our qualifying losses and maximise our profits.

As a general rule, try and restrict your qualifying losses to around 5% of your stake amount and look to extract around 80% from any free bets.

    Hope that helps.

Unfortunately, there’s no sure fire way of doing this @Bazza.

You’d think it would be easy to select losing horses but the reality is that they do win from time to time.

If we knew which horses were going to lose, we could make a lot of money by simply laying them at the exchanges.

Once you’ve had an account excluded from promotions, you just need to try and squeeze as much profit out of the account as you can.

Even when gubbed, you should still be eligible for extra place offers and there’s each way arbing to take a look at too.
