B365 no lay

  • Following on from Dan87 post about e/w arbing without laying after being restricted, I’ve been doing this on my B365 account since February this year.

I was restricted to pretty small stakes at the end of last year and thought that was it for my B365 account. Then a few months later, I read a post by Fog (who I definitely owe a beer to for highlighting this and Edge to me and others on the forum!) about how he’d be doing ok out of small value bets on B365 and thought I’d have a go.

I’m meant to be doing some work this afternoon but instead I’ve been procrastinating watching Wimbledon and working out some stats.

I started on the 4th Feb ’17 with £50 (with hindsight this probably wasn’t enough but I got lucky at the start)..

I’ve placed 319 bets – 259 each way (102 won or placed) and 60 singles (10 won). 318 of the bets were on horses and one £1 bet on the NFL (which lost). I pretty much always go for the max stake.

Total stakes were £1,818 and total return £2,323 (+£505).
Of which, the total each way stakes were £1,622 and total return £2,130 (+£508).
And, the total single stakes were £196 and total return £193 (-£3)

In that time I’ve also had 6 ITV refunds, total refund £40.28. So total profit £545.

I’m not sure how much time I spend doing it, not a massive amount though, maybe 20 minutes on Saturday morning and 10 minutes sporadically here and there.

I enjoy it anyway but it feel like it’s not bad use of my time.

I’ve been betting and not laying with my Betfair account too but I haven’t worked out the stats on that one yet..

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I think I opened mine in about 2011/2012. Google tells me that KYC came in around 2007, so I guess I’ll have to wait until I change my name by deed poll before I get a fresh account.

It’s iffy ground as they still have details registered.
I’ve gained extra ground on a couple accounts that way, but mostly where I’d been greedy and done dual signups pre kyc days (when I wasn’t getting max value).

Couple more recent efforts failed. If only I knew of the full value of betting earlier

I’ve doing extra places on gubbed accounts for about a month and for the last week I’ve kept a complete records of places. It would seem that backing and laying for extra places is costing extra profit, I know variance and probability comes into play with no lays.

I’ve got 3 Bet365 accounts and all gubbed, so from today (before I read this thread) I’ve placed some low stakes each way bets. I’ve been looking the oddsmonkey each way matcher and extra place matcher, plus using Betfair for the place odds to gauge the best horse to back. In the last week I placed 46 bets, 28 placed in extra place races, 8 won, 8 finished 4th and 12th second or third. The profit difference between laying and not laying was nearly £300.

    Nice work Mr Crispy.

Have you not had any adjustments in that time? For example if you’re entitled to £20 risk free bet in the next race but you can only say get £5 on, it then goes on to win you would get paid as if you bet £20.

Good question, I have no idea!.

Would they show as account adjustments? Or just as normal winnings? If they show as account adjustments then no, all my account adjustments are itv refunds.

I (pretty much) always max stake all my bets, that’s how you get the uplift right?

Nice one BKK, hope it carries on for you!

Yeah comes under adjustments and says itv free bet the same as refunds.

I think before you had to click max stake on desktop but last few months at least it’s worked on mobile.

I assume you have to bet the max stake to the penny, whether win or ew to benefit from any additional winnings.

Ah thanks… it still looks like I haven’t benefited, as all my adjustments have been paltry..

First day of non lays, 8 horses, results are non placed, 2nd, 3rd, 1st, 2nd, 8th, non placed, non placed, – £2.31. These were 6 horses on Irish races which I don’t really rate, but it’s a Sunday and not much choice of races.

I did hit first, but it was for a 2nd place free bet, variance looks ok, onto Monday..

The 1500 at Newmarket is perfect for this. Enhanced odds, odds on fav, 9 runners for a little insurance against non runners, a few 50/1 donkeys, favourite even enhanced to a slight arb to cover that too…

Oh and price promise there too! Stakes allowed are a bit puny but they let me bet to win ew €80 on card sharp @ 33/1. And similar on others.

Can either of you get anything on the 2nd and 3rd fave? Less than a £1 here..

Same here, 2.40 in York is not too bad either and getting better stakes on there.

Me three. I can only get more than £1ew on the favourite and Card Sharp (£1.57)..

Plenty of value in backing the bottom three in the place market on Sky Bet too..

Cheers same boat then. Worth noting if anyone didn’t know, if price changes can usually get another max bet on.
