B365 no lay

  • Following on from Dan87 post about e/w arbing without laying after being restricted, I’ve been doing this on my B365 account since February this year.

I was restricted to pretty small stakes at the end of last year and thought that was it for my B365 account. Then a few months later, I read a post by Fog (who I definitely owe a beer to for highlighting this and Edge to me and others on the forum!) about how he’d be doing ok out of small value bets on B365 and thought I’d have a go.

I’m meant to be doing some work this afternoon but instead I’ve been procrastinating watching Wimbledon and working out some stats.

I started on the 4th Feb ’17 with £50 (with hindsight this probably wasn’t enough but I got lucky at the start)..

I’ve placed 319 bets – 259 each way (102 won or placed) and 60 singles (10 won). 318 of the bets were on horses and one £1 bet on the NFL (which lost). I pretty much always go for the max stake.

Total stakes were £1,818 and total return £2,323 (+£505).
Of which, the total each way stakes were £1,622 and total return £2,130 (+£508).
And, the total single stakes were £196 and total return £193 (-£3)

In that time I’ve also had 6 ITV refunds, total refund £40.28. So total profit £545.

I’m not sure how much time I spend doing it, not a massive amount though, maybe 20 minutes on Saturday morning and 10 minutes sporadically here and there.

I enjoy it anyway but it feel like it’s not bad use of my time.

I’ve been betting and not laying with my Betfair account too but I haven’t worked out the stats on that one yet..

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Just logged in to see an ‘Important Announcement’. Gubbed from all the offers from Weds 20th. Not checked staking restrictions yet but bit disappointing.

    Yep, same for me.

I’m guessing a lot of people will have received it as it was also received on my friend’s account that has only been used sporadically since being heavily restricted.

Clearly there were too many of us around. I like to think that Denise stumbled upon this thread at the weekend and decided she better take some action.

Got the same. Including best price guaranteed which may make it harder to pick out those arbs on weekends. Said nothing about extra places and enhanced ew terms.

Might be the kick that I need to go ahead and set up some fresh accounts.

I agree fog everything just continues to be cut off. Luckily I’ve got nearly a year ahead of the game but will now be spending xmas and New Years assessing my next move.

Basically a long drawn out game of chess with the bookies.

Not much changed on restrictions what I can tell. Giving me almost a fiver on 8/1 horse in 310 at fakenham.

Would still be ok if no further restrictions, unless they kick in Weds too.

I think it’s a standard message, updating their gubbing to a more strict level. My post gubbing activity was minimal but I still got this.
Most their value will stand though as comes from 1/4 odds, pricewise, pricematch and other outlying odds.
Although I’d already withdrawn my balance with a view to attempting a 2nd account with them.

The question is how far can we push strategies that don’t or can’t get closed down (possibly exchange only)
I kind of feel the brain power is there with at least half a dozen people on here, but time and constraints of a public forum are the holding back factors

My first thought was this was a big blow. But will all depend on the stake restrictions

You want to set up a secret club betman?

The 310 in Catterick looks decent. They are letting me good stakes, maybe its not marked as a bad ew race (the fav is not odds on). But there are enough rags to make the place parts arb on some of the middle horses. This could turn into the ideal situation where you have a weak favourite that will hopefully drift and drift which should mean all our horses shorten a little bit. Dakkar Collonges I took at 9.0 this morning (2.6 to place) is already shortened to 2.2 to place on exchange and the win part is getting close to 9.0 on the exchange too.

They said something about the Official Price Guarantee as well. So that’s price promise right? I am not sure if that means that we dont get the same prices on the weekend meetings? When we try to bet on a horse that is price promise matching another site’s odds will we be reoffered a shorter price?

Oh I hope the price guarantee doesn’t go. The message is gone now, but surely they couldn’t have 2 prices with us getting a lower one?
Although if I do 2nd account I’ll dodge that

The time issue may stop me fog! And secret club sounds like the secret 7 off here and their eway arbing

Not got proper records but just been through deposits, withdrawals and adjustments from past 6 months. Around a third of the account profit is adjustments, so a fair proportion.

Same restrictions as far as i can tell.

    Yep, good news..
There are a few enhanced 4 place races today to have practice on…

It’s interesting that you’ve made so much out of account adjustments.. I did a very rough calculation of mine over the last six months and account adjustments are more like 5-10% of my total B365 profit..
