Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

Wow what a race boys!!!
Was on 8 of the 16 runners… risky as fuck lol but
3 placed
£60ew on winner 5/4.5 – £48 profit total
£140ew Gracious George £180 profit on pl
£32ew sugar baeah at 50/1 … £178 on plTook some losses on wins so only £350 profit on race

Holy shizzle. £5500?!! That’s amazing. I didn’t spot the 9pm race. You must be doing this full time now Supert T? I tend to find that i need a whole day off if I’m going to do thing properly – firstly to monitor the bookie odds and market in the morning to get bets on and secondly time before the race to lay my bets.
I have no idea how you manage to keep your accounts open so long but fair play….

1 lad in group is £7657 for Nov £39k YTD.
No work full time pal… on 4th full set of accounts although find gubbings come quicker than they used too… i avoid taking any win arbs to prolong accounts and dont bother with offers really.
You really only need to look 15 mins before race and there will still be value… doing bets early can go 1 of 2 ways… least 15mins before race more liquidity.
I try to get on as many horses as possible to hope to hit winner so no commission.£650 of months profits did come from being pissed and had a big win on slots thou lol and today got lucky by forgetting to lay a place on 33/1 shot that was 4th… pitty only had £18 ew but would have lost £100 on that race but ended up £50 up :)

Perhaps I’m not looking hard enough for arbs closer to the race. I tend to see value several hours before the race when the market starts to form and bookies are slow to adjust.
Do you think I should ignore early prices then and keep bets to within and hour or so of the race so as to not flag accounts?
I understand not getting an arb on the win but surely this is luck rather than judgement. You never account for swings 15 mins before the race? I won £250 on a race at the weekend. I put £25 ew on a 33/1 and in the last 45 mins or so it steamed to 10s (about 6/1) at the bookies. It went on to win…. I managed a decent arb on win and place, but got a “you’ve lost BOG” email as a result….

When are most people laying the win parts of their EW bets?
I’ve been doing extra place races recently and I’ve had a few winners that have steamed in and won, but I have backed and layed and the higher price. Surely if you are not laying immediately you would be as well trading on the exchanges.
I’ve started backing and only part laying (about 3/4) in the hope I can get a small arb or a BOG arb if it drifts.

Great result Super although it could have been a disaster on the 9pm. George came 4th (was on too) so if there a nonR at the gates we’d have been truly shafted. You were on 8 horses on a 16 runner with gates – you love to play with fire. atm finding it hard to get more than £40ew with any bookie.
Had Sugar on PP betslip at when prices went to cock. Moved on and forgot about it. Bummer.Agree with not bothering with promotions – risk losing accounts for a few £’s.

You can get on them all right now for almost zero loss (if you outsider wins I’ll be 400up due to the minimum bet on Betfair).
The chances are one of the favs will come in and the other will drift.

Backed by mistake instead of laying Sternrubin just as they boosted it then watched the price shoot up… as all the MBers started laying it. :-(
Hopefully it will come back down in 10 minutes…. sigh.

Usually lay wins straight away for small loss… would have been gutted had glorious george won lol… laid 15.5 from getting 15 … went to below 9… also the £32 on Beach laid ave 53 and that went to 26ish. Im happy just with the place arb cos the amount of time 1 drifts badly hurts.
Talk about play with fire… i did have £200 ew on an 11/4 shot in 8 runner the other week that i hadnt realised 1 didnt go in stalls and went without 1…. only 7 ran and lost £340 on that 1 horse… (fin 3rd)
because also took big loss on win after drift… but luckily had another horse that was smashed in came 2nd so with 1/4 odds made back £190 so only lost £150 on race :(+0

Are you making all your profit on bad ew races, or casino or others secrets too? Also with underlaying the places instead of taking guaranteed can skew ppl’s quoted profit figures from month to month. I am all for underlaying but have to be cautious about profit claims. A few horses missing their places compared to a few horses just sneaking into the places could easily be the difference in maybe a thousand or so (at the stakes you mention) when you are talking about the end of month profits.
+0Made a small bit dutching the 13.00 Ascot…. Sternrubin would have been a decent BOG winner (other than the outsider).
Good way as well to look like a mug punter betting on races with no offers.
I think I might get a couple of Faller Insurance FBs from it that I wasn’t aware of when placing the bets.

Well fair play to anyone who found value in the 1320 catterick or 1340 ffos las. I couldn’t see anything worth taking. Another frustrating day…..
