Bad EW Races NO CHAT

  • Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

Owe me half sleepless, I was on spun gold…. although at least laid that!

I’m surprised as I saw it went off 25s when I checked before coming on here. Although mid afternoon betfair went 40 so if mikey is reading this and got on that trying to make his 6k then no wonder there was no liquidity

I’ve used up a good bit of luck with Carol (41/34) but couldn’t lay place. Then lost a few quid on Jack Dillinger and Ladbrokes. Nice arb melted as I was laying. Went 7.5 – 6 – 8+. Place market was tight as it had a good chance but that drifted like crazy just before the off. Reckon Lads had got at the trainer!. Seems to be a lot of 8 runners lately. Dodgy with the stalls
The Sky place market can be a good source, but may lead to gubbings so I’m warned. I underlaid Gold so zilch for me there.

    You guys on US racing?

Some nice wins here yesterday but you guys need to be careful picking the so called bad ew races.

Firstly, you really need a clear odds on favourite ideally below 1.8. If not then lay odds on outsiders are very unlikely to come in like those yesterday. Secondly, the rest of the field need to be clearly split between 2-3 horses that the market fancies and the rest that are no hopers.

I didnt see either of the above criteria in those two races yesterday and it was pure luck that they both came in. The first race was just a win arb, made no sense to do it each way.

Anyway, I’m glad you guys won a nice bit of cash there but you did get lucky. Having said that, theres probably value in doing a few punts on the places now and again.

Which horses are you talking about Chris?.

Dillinger was a lovely ew arb – win gtd. profit until it went drifting crazy last minute. Reckon that was a set-up by Ladbrokes.
Carol was the dodgy one as it was a short 8er (that’s really dodgy). Just took a chance in-race and was lucky (having covered the place bet on the win).

This thread isn’t really just bad ew races anymore, but more ew abs and bets in general eg Sky place market.

Take your point about the bad ew races.

Only just saw carol came 3rd, forget sporting life ‘results’ are just the racecard unless you click on results card and took the ‘awful tip’ part literally.

Unless you’re holding out for price movement an arbs an arb. Admittedly yday was dodgy with the field size, but on an 8/9 size field with outsiders you’ll often get the place arbs still – maybe just taking what you can at that time, but the win part can be low loss or a small arb too…… which I think is what beesty picked up a fair few of

Admittedly the horse talked about earlier was just an arb, and backing each way lowered the value of it

Haha Betman that was a nice surprise for you. If it had not placed I’d have not ribbed you. Reading my post again it would seem quite insulting if you didn’t know it placed.

Well I didn’t back it, that would been a nicer surprise.
New sporting life layout does my head in, takes longer to read the cards and I’m repeatedly misreading races results.
