Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

Casino markets 14:40 Cheltenham 18/1 Betfair, lay is at 19 place lay ay 4.9.
Was trending through the early hours so could have got it at 20/1, serious value in the early prices

I tried to say something about this on another thread. Might be a safe way to tackle bad ew races with 8 horses.

Punchestown 17:30

Gods Own is 8.5 on betfair and laying 9.2.

EW Edge it -1 to get odds of 12.0 ew for 2 places. The arb on the win 12.0/9.2 makes up for the loss on the place (laying on 2 to be placed market) 3.2/3.95 for guaranteed profit regardless. So play like a normal ew arb, wait to see if the place lay falls as the 2 tbp market becomes more liquid.

If a non runner then you keep the enhanced odds 12.0 (minus any rule 4) and it becomes win only so should be an arb.

Just to be fair. There are two problems with that, but still think there is value in the idea.

1. You won’t get BOG on the EW Edge odds, so that removes a safety net for if the price drifts and an extra little source of income that ew arbers often get.

2. Betfair is only bookie that does ew edge, and betfair is only exchange that has 2 tbp market. So they could detect your activity and it could flag you up and have you restricted. The value is still there though to leave the place bet run as a value bet, or overlay the win part a little to reduce you’re overall risk. You can afford to overlay the win because you’ll also get paid the place part in the bookie if you win, so gives more money to play with on the exchange.
