Right an idea I got from oddsmonkey, we post the daily bad EW races on here with no chat or discussion, plenty of topics for that. Think this thread will help us all in case you don’t think it will just skip this please ?

New to matched betting?
My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

I had a little on Kick on and Commander Cole in that 16:40 race too but none hit the places. I do think that longer term, not laying is probably the way to go to save commission etc. but I’ve got 0% with smarkets at the moment which is pretty helpful. Plus my bank took a huge hit at the end of last year after I got ill and had to dip into it.
Thinking about trying a staking plan approach. Set aside £100 or so and just always stake 10% without the laying part. See if that builds up my bank faster than my current approach. Locking up £500-£1k liabilities on outsiders in one race to squeeze out value means I am limited on how many races I can get on at the moment. Plus, it would also mean I might be able to do more when at work. I can’t take out 30 mins before a race to start laying my bets.
Don’t lose faith in your system. If you know it works and you are taking value, just keep with it and over time, you’ll have a few weeks with more wins than losses and you’re profits will shoot up!
+0Tbh Mr M if you have only £1000 float I would just never bet on horses above ~66/1. Especially if (like today) there are multiple races to target in one day’s racing. Or you could try not laying any stakes below a certain amount (say, £5 EW or below, dont lay the place)
+0Another FB from PP! Looks like im ungubbed at least for horse racing, how amusing, wonder if something’s broken and they cant gub or restrict me – happy days
+0That’s close to what I do now anyway Enigma. Can’t really afford to lay anything over 50/1, so I either just chuck a few quid on or mostly leave them to be honest. Even at around odds of 25-50, I’m often looking at liabilities of £500 plus to get any decent stakes on. Just need to be patient I guess and wait for my exchange to build up to a healthy balance.
I’ve never seen PP ungubbing people before! Although, I’ve been ungubbed by Coral recently – in fact, they have started emailing me and texting me almost daily now with invites for this and that offer (lots of casino). It’s bordering on harassment!
+0Just food food for thought… if u get a very promising/ big arb ion a very big price.. one where its unlikely u will be able to cover the win part of the bet off on exchange… why not consider laying off an the ew tab and err towards hopung the horse wins rather than the bigger place profits u would have garnered from straight win/place lays.. or if in a really strong place arb posistion simply overlay the place to the point where liabilites are covered (dont need a big exchange roll for that) and leave the wun lay alone/to a minimum. Again with this method u will be not kopping so well on the place coming in..and more hoping for the unlikely win.. but at least you would have got in on a good value overall arb that you have left alone because you didnt want to risk suffering some losses on because you couldnt cover the win lay🤔
+0If not using betfair..then ew tab laying is not applicable – but the over laying place option is applicable on all exchanges👍
