Cheltenham profits so far

  • I thought with 1 day togo it might be a idea to detail down everyones profits, if its close between a few we could have a top of the league clash and maybe even a challenge for a top 4 finish (hopefully no one will need relegating LOLLIPOP)

    So how are you doing?

  • New to matched betting?

My Matched Betting Academy is the best place to get started. Learning the fundamentals takes 10-15 minutes and you’ll make £15 in the process.

My first Cheltenham too. Made £360 overall, which was just short of my target of £100 a day. I had only started looking into horse racing offers a couple of weeks ago, so was a bit of a crash course for me! Nevertheless still thoroughly enjoyed it, and learnt a lot over the four days.

One thing that I just couldn’t quite hit was the extra place offers. Despite backing 5 or 6 horses in each of the 5 races I attempted, I always seemed to miss by a place (even in the Sky 2 extra places). This meant that I was about £50 down by the end – which would have brought me very nicely to my target £400.

Was this just luck of the draw, or am I missing some strategy?

@Jdrobbo was on Bounty Pursuit with Betfred & Totesport and it was originally annouced as 3rd I was hitting things at this point as I has him each way on Sky also no needed him to come 2nd or 4th. I watched the race and was convinced he was 2nd but when they annouced 3rd was very annoyed could not believe after checking back he was actually 2nd and not 3rd as announced. Not a bad day just need my 2 Energy Bets to lose now lol

I’m up about £120 or so, this was my first chelt as just missed it last year. Next year, I will just be getting the free bets and placing them without laying. I would have been up over £1000 easy if I would have done that strategy…

If you only made £120 profit then that £1k lost to the exchange would be purely variance rather than something u can expect to repeat

Unless it’s for fun Cheltenham seems the least suitable time to punt freebies as there is so much liquidity and such good extraction there is much less value surrendered to the exchange
